Looking for a nice pair of rearsets
« on: December 14, 2002, 09:43:00 PM »
I really like the Mikuni but cant stand the idea of paying $550 for 'em.

Anyone got any ideas? Anything you've tried that you like?

I looked at a set of Vortex and they really felt cheap. What about Gilles or Attack?

Help?

I have a set of Vortex,  I like them alot.  They fit great and look good.  Quite abit lighter than stock setup.  Only problem is theat they dont have any mount for the rear brakelight switch.  Nice piece.

I think the Gilles are the best looking ones!     (Titanium). Plus they are fully adjustable.

How about the RAM ones?  We carry a few different ones so let me know which ones you like.

Charles,

How much do those RAM rearsets weigh? From the picture, they look thicker than the stock pieces. Also, do they have a provision for the brake light switch, and the brake lever return spring?

Sato racing has lowered rear sets, I have a set on my biuke and I am sure Seb has them on as well, send a note to seb and have him click a quick pic for ya.

They are nice looking and light, they have bearings I think?
only thing I dont like is they do not pivot like stock, however they were made for a drag bike so that feature would not be needed.

Im not too intersted in peg placement. Im kinda tall but I dont think itll bother me much. This aint a touring bike so my exposure will be limited.

Charles, whats your price on the Gilles and do you have them in that titanium color?

Hey Jeff- I think the Gilles rearsets have bearings intstead of bushings. I also have not decided, but The Gilles rearsets look good to me. I think the price has come down on them too.

Charles, I wasn't sure if those were rearsets or not in the photo. Looked more like a playground for a gorilla. What is the size of that photo? 6436x3412?

I HAD THE PRO TEKS AND THEY ARE GARBAGE.  DO NOT LOOK GOOD AT ALL.  ATTACK NEVER MADE A SET FOR THE BUSA EVEN THOUGH THEY DID ADVERTISE THEM.  I BOUGHT THE YOSHIMURA REARSETS AND THE FIT AND FINISH IS VERY GOOD.  HAVE NOT INSTALLED THEM YET.  THEY RIDE ON BEARING BUT ARE NON ADJUSTIBLE AND YOU HAVE TO FABRICATE A BREAK LIGHT SWITCH.  CALL ME AND IF YOU WANT THE PRO TEK OR YOSHIMURA I WILL BEAT ALL PRICES ON THEM IF YOU GET A PRICE.

I ordered some gold colored Harris rearsets that I found at Kneedraggers.com that were under $400. It says they pivot on bearings. It will probably be a month or so before I get 'em though. I tried to order the Attack rearsets but was told that they are "in production" by Cyclemall.net who then never returned any e-mail or calls I had with further questions.

The harris rear sets are very nice.  I use them on my turbo bike.  We sell them for $345 and the yosh rear sets for $325.
