Adding stuff to petrol to clean the injectors. Good idea or not? How often, if good idea? Is this a problem on the hayabusa?

Seems that you shouldn't waste your time trying to clean your injectors.
What you really need to do is stop using "petrol".
Put some good old fashioned Gasoline in that bad boy. That should clean out the cobwebs!
Sheesh! I never knew suzuki made a diesel Busa!

use it every tank full for about 10 tanks
then every other for a while
then you can use it every few tanks to keep injectors and valves clean

Toluene is the active ingredient in most injector cleaners.  Go down to your local paint store and buy a gallon and put about 4 Oz in each fuel tank fillup for awhile.  Then do like MH said,  every two or three tanks.

Wow, talk about reviving a post.  Nutec is an oxygenated race fuel.  I am not sure if they even make Special 4 anymore.  Read more about oxygenated fuel before using it!  You have to run it out or drain it.

Sorry, about your question.  Race gas dealer/speed shop/drag strip etc.

On a turbo motor, is there any need to take it easy while seafoam is in it?

How do you know your injectors need cleaning anyway? is the bike running bad, starting hard, just run the gas with methanol once in a while. as long as the bike don't sit for months on end there shouldn't be a problem
The older you get do you notice you start chickening out way before the bike does

What about using toluene? It's even referenced above on this same thread. I've used for years in my truck and Vmax. It used to be cheap, it's now $15 a gallon around here. You can get it at Sherwin-Williams and other paint/industrial supply stores. I know it can be used to raise the octane level of gasoline. It's even the main ingredient in many fuel system cleaners and used as an industrial cleaning solvent.

In the link below they talk about using it in turbocharged Formula 1 engines and other octane hungry engines.

Another product that I know many mechanics swear by is BG 44K fuel system cleaner, but it's not cheap, about $20 for an eleven once can and may be hard to find.

This site has a bunch of info on toluene as an octane booster:

http://www.elektro.com/~audi/audi/toluene.html

""Q: How did you discover using toluene?

A: Someone came across a web page that described various DIY home brew octane booster formulas. One of which used toluene as its main ingredient. As a Formula 1 racing fan of many years, I recalled that toluene was used extensively in the turbo era in the 1980s by all the Formula 1 teams. The 1.5 liter turbocharged engines ran as much as 5 bars of boost (73 psi) in qualifying and 4 bars (59 psi) in the actual race. Power output exceeded 1500bhp, which translates into 1000bhp/liter, an astronomical figure.""

Oh and as noted on that site, "don't drink even a little of it"
