Running to rich or to lean
« on: August 25, 2003, 12:27:00 PM »
Hey guys, How can you tell if your bike is running rich or to lean. I have a PC2 and have been trying different settings but it still stutters when shifting gears. Hell, I may not be giving enough gas when shifting. Also what is the idle supposed to be at when warm? Thanks!

Idle at 1150.
The old way to determine rich/lean is to read the plugs.
The new way is to install an oxygen sensor.
The best way is to take it to a dyno with a four gas sniffer and get a good map made.
A tip,,,if it backfires when you back off the throttle...it is probably lean at that throttle setting.
