Engine was running hot last night.

And the temp gauge went up to the red area.
This because of a leaking hose. Now the day after, the gauge is still standing on red and and in the display is saying " check ". It won't start, seems like the intrumentation has got stuck. Any idea what to do?

I have disconnected the battery and tha data box, but it doesn't help!

check the code. bend a paper clip into a 'u' shape and stick it into the diagnosis plug at the left rear of the bike inside the tail section.i can reach mine through the access hole over the left rear peg. after you put the paper clip in turn the key on and it should give a code in the clock window.

I'm seriously not trying to be a smartass, but a common mistake is not setting the run/kill switch to run. It's the switch above the starter button. If it isn't set to run, it will do exactly what you said.
