heavy duty starter gear

any one have trouble with heavy duty starter gear rubbing the cases?  and also what battery are you guys having luck with?

SPANK1, You're suppose to clear the metal back on the cases with a dremal tool or small grinder for clearance. And the battery of choice in most cases is YTZ14S (YUASA).

I just bought a starter gear and like spank said, theres no instructions as to the clearencing that is needed. Any one know exactly what to grind off of my perfectly good cases?  Thanks

Where the gear rubs. Grind just enough off for it not to rub. And have enough clearance. Do that and you will be in good shape.

Where did u guys buy the gear from??? I bought mine from schnitz and it came w/instructions stapled to the card.

you have to clerance the bottom starter cover not the cases and be carfull not to take off too much it will weaken the cover, I also have the Brock HD starter pins I don't know if they help but for $30 what the hell their stronger.
