Guy,

198 is respectable on motor. We are not talkin internet speeds, most don't realize how difficult it is to break the double ton on nuts.

Wouldn't that be a hoot, a ZX12 going really fast.  The Nitrous wars should heat up now because we're hoping that 220mph will be our warmup lap.

I'm thinking that the turbo boys will fight for the 255-260mph mark and the Nitrous MPH bar will be raised considerably by the end of the weekend.
I will even predict that 225mph (if no headwinds that weekend) could even be achieved.  By who?  Who knows, but I know I'm going to give it a shot, I mean a 150hp shot that is.

JoeA Reminds me (and I am suitably embarrased) with his post that he has been over 220 TWICE on nitrous!

And, of course, he is the fastest nitrous bike in the world, with an incredible 226 MPH at Bonnevile.

All that, and with only 1000cc.

Imagine if he had 1300cc

more than twice, but who is counting

I havent done it at Maxton though, kudos
to all of you who do it there!!

no salt being laid down this year,  some of the
"new" go fast guys might find it a bit more
interesting if the conditions end up like
about 4 years or more ago,  I sure hope NOT

i'll be there!!  cant wait to meet you guys..

would love to race the busa but may just end up spectating at the minimun..    Bringing the busa for "pit bike" lol but not exactly sure of all the tech stuff i would have to do to run the thing.   If i ran ti wouldn't be competitive but just for fun..     she makes 420 hp or so so it shouldn't do htat bad out there.     WHat kind of gearing are you guys using?     What would be a decent gear set up to start with if i am able to run?

cool.

420 HP is very respectable numbers and should make for a very fast bike. As much gearing as you can put on it. 19 or 20 on the front and if you are running a stock rear wheel, 36 is as small that will fit on the back. 20 is avalible from speed king. Go to the ecta web site for all the rules- www.ecta-lsr.com. Its great fun even if you dont break a record.  You get to go as fast as you want to and arent being hassled by the cops. If its not too busy you can get in 10-20 runs in a weekend.

TZ,  yea man the tranny is all stock.  Using dymag custom carbon wheels and as far as i know only stock sprokets are available for them.

Would it be better to use the stock arm for this event?   the arm on the bike is 6-8 and set up at 6 right now.   I do not have that much experience at speeds over 200 mph or so but i am willing to give it my best shot and hope to have lots of fun if I am able to run the bike.  Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!!  lol

nkd,  thanks for the info..   Yea i heard about the 20 sprokets but the last 19 i put on a bike just looked DAMN big and the 20 just kinda scares me!!  lol.   Do they work without issues?

You ever in or around the richmond area?   Are you going to be at the maxton event?

Fastgizz,     the 20 sprockets work perfect, they will fit under the stock OEM cover, they work perfect..all of the fastest bikes use them.  PM me and I will get one sent your way.

hey fastgixx, I hope to be at maxton in march, it just depends on the money situation. Its looking like it will be a very interesting meet. TZ750 ,motorhead, hank and alot of the major players may be there for some very serious speed. The nitrous and turbo bikes duking it out plus alot of different cars also. The 20tooth sprocket will fit but you need to watch for a loose chain with the extended swingarm can break the sprocket cover with too much slack. 19-36 is a good place to start with then add more gear later.I live in southern spotsy. you can reach me at 540-729-7442 Todd B.

How come whne I go to the ECTA web site all I can get is the front page?!?!? Does anyone else have this problem? I can't see rules, location, nothin' just two pics on the page.

I plan on going down for the event with my son. Anyone know of a good hotel there? Who's heading down there and where ya' stayin? I plan to ride down so I want to stay somewhere that my bike will be accepted and safe to park overnight. Any suggestions?

Commuta-busa, The two of the best places to stay at is Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn in Laurinburg N.C. Both will let you park your bike in front of the door. I dont believe that anyone has anything taken from their vehicles in last couple of years. you are only 10-15 minutes away from the track/airport. see ya there.

Holy shit I find this hilarious coming from someone who hasn't broken 200 naturally aspirated.  How can you sit there an bust on a ZX12 when at the last ECTA meet Team Millholland on Tim Haig's ALL MOTOR 12R was going 208 MPH repeatedly all day long yes naturally aspirated.  Isn't that 10 mph faster than you've gone N/A?
Shit my ass has been 204 on my small engine 12R naturally aspirated at Maxton and it's a streetbike not a $30,000 dragbike.com project bike.  Want to talk smack?  How about this anyone can go 210 or 215 on your bike.  Let me ride your shit I will go 5 mph faster than you on your own bike!  If you didn't go that fast I would be pissed!  Hey if they put a simple dry kit on Tim's bike it would destroy your "maxtons fastest nitrous bike" record no problem.   You're lucky that our baby is due this month otherwise I would put some half ass effort into it and come down there with nitrous on my 12R and set a record you would never be able to touch!          Sorry I couldn't help responding you piss me off implying 12Rs are slow!
