Dry Kit Problem
« on: April 21, 2004, 09:39:48 AM »
Through a long, long process, I finally got my A&J dry kit completely installed yesterday.  Last night I took it out on the interstate for a shake down.  When the solenoid was activiated I had a very brief surge of acceleration and then a loud POP and hiss .... where should I look for the blown line?  I've got everthing so well hidden that it would be nice to have a starting point.

dont hide the line before you have a test run. Nitrous usually have a frost when it leaks. Take the fairing back of rmove the line out of the air box and plug it with a vacum line plug and test system to see where you line leak is.

Yes, that's what I'm going to have to do ... the A&J kit has 1 line coming from the soleniod, then it branches into 2 via a junction box.  Luckly, my jets can be removed by only lifting the tank.  I would have done it last night, but it was late.

BTW, this is my first experience with N20 ... I've done everything else, just not N20.

Dry Kit Problem

Heh! Mine did the same thing. I recieved my kit last friday @ noon. Had it on the bike in a jiffy(very easy to install), but i did not take the time to place everything or mount the switch. Just did enough to make sure it all was gonna work. Took it to the track an hour later. First pass only picked up 3mph in the 1/8 and 1/4. The bottle still seemed full. I tried again and only picked up 1 mph. I decieded to make some passes on motor and then try another bottle later. When i did, it blew the right hand line where it goes into the nozzle. Evidently i did'nt compress the ferrel enough. I was able to slide it back on the line and re-tighten. I tested it by powering up the solenoid with the NOS on(bike not running). All ok. I thook it out on the road yesterday and started from 2nd gear at about 60mph(not sure of the rpm). The bike is slammed in the back and i'm running a 16/39 sprocket combo. The bike jumped foreward when i pinned the throttle and then it promptly lifted the front skyward! I was in a full tuck when i pinned it! I had to back out of it! I'm gonna give it a try again this friday as long as it does'nt rain...

Oddly, mine blew out on the left nozzle .. exactly the same situation.  I haven't had a chance to try and tighten it up (it's been raining like crazy here for the past 2 days).  BTW, the ferrel is 1/8"
