Ran the Dry shot from A&J Performance!!!
« on: April 24, 2004, 12:44:47 AM »
I made a few passes on motor w/o cans. Picked up about 1mph, and only on my very first pass. Ofcourse, i made several passes in between with the Dry shot. Here are some of my motor passes...

 6:23 pm

 60'   1.627
 330  4.241
 1/8   6.369 @ 115.26mph
 1/4   9.788 @ 142.90mph

 8:16 pm

 60'   1.581
 330  4.180
 1/8   6.327 @ 114.30mph
 1/4   9.777 @ 142.06mph

 9:03 pm

 60'   1.627
 330  4.185
 1/8   6.322 @ 114.92mph
 1/4   9.788 @ 141.36mph

Pretty wild that the first pass and the one at 9:03 pm had EXACTALLY IDENTICAL 60's AND 1/4 ET! I thought i had a duplicate ticket...

 Now for the NOS passes...

 7:35pm

 60'   1.592
 330  4.135
 1/8   6.216 @ 119.82
 1/4   9.465 @ 151.68
The wheel spun pretty bad in the top of 2nd and into 3rd gear on this pass!

 7:52pm

 60'  1.639
 330 4.202
 1/8  6.242 @ 121.31 mph
 1/4  9.480 @ 151.61 mph
The wheel spun in 3rd on this pass and it hit the limiter!

 7:58 pm

 60'  1.576
 330 4.108
 1/8  6.125 @ 122.54 mph
 1/4  9.357 @ 151.36 mph
Whoohoo!!! Now were talk'n. The wheel spun right after the shift to 4th. Evidently it did'nt slow it down much, but it sure wagged its tail. I was just glad to knock off a good 60' on that pass!

 8:07 pm

 60'  1.611
 330 4.212
 1/8  6.259 @ 120.00 mph
 1/4  9.499 @ 151.63 mph
This one i brought front up in the top of 1st and when i shifted to 2nd it came up high enough that i had to back out of the throttle. I got back in it on its way down...

 9:14pm

 60'  1.580
 330  4.111
 1/8  6.118 @ 122.38 mph
 1/4  9.321 @ 152.74 mph

That pass felt GOOD!!! Very smooth. The front came up in the top of 1st(just as i got the clutch all the way out) and it touched down just before the shift to 2nd. Once i hit second, it came up about a foot and then settled back down nice and smooth!
I still have not hit its full potential, but i'll work on that in the near future! I had no way of knowing my bottle pressure. I think i'm gonna get a automatic bottle warmer. That should help get the most of the dry shot!
For those that don't know, here are the specs on my bike...

04 LE Busa(1200mi on the odo), strapped in the front, lowered all the way in the rear, 16T front sprocket, 39T rear sprocket, Shinko rear tire, screens in ram-air removed(near the blinkers), and a 50-60hp Dry NOS kit w/ A&J performance controller(set to spray the NOS in 2nd gear). I removed the stk cans as well. Next time, i'll remove the midpipes as well and maybe remove the air filter(track only).

I think there are some 9.2's in this puppy! That would be super cool to run that on a stk wheelbase w/ stk exhaust!!! We shall see...

 9.995 @ 142(1.771 60')Totally stk. (04 Busa)
9.482 @ 144.89(1.523 60')Strapped, lowered, 16/40, BMC, Stk cans removed. Stk arm, and everything else
 9.251 @ 152.69(1.547 60'). A&J dry shot. All else same as above

Definitely impressed with the .3-.4 and 10 mph. I just may have to pick up that A J controller. I've got a kit installed that I have not yet used. Do you know what size jet you have installed. You mentioned the kit was 50-60hp but I'm curious if you have dynoed to see exactly where you are at? Also, if using a 50-60shot are you using something to retard the timing?

Kyrus,

I have not dyno'd it yet(i  plan to in the next month or so). Personally, i believe i should pickup 12-14mph with a 60shot(i've seen a 40 shot pickup 9-10mph). I'm running two .26 NOS jets. I'm not retarding the timming. I'm not sure if the A&J controller pulls any timming, but i don't think so.
I'm spraying the NOS into both ram-air tubes between the frame and the airbox. I think the stk filter is prolly hurting it alittle.
