I am installing chrome wheels and need to know what tool is needed to loosen front axle. Looks like a huge allen wrench.

Suzuki sells a tool, around $35 to $40 I think.  It has a hex wrench on each side.  One side fits th busa and the other does not.  It works well though, when putting the axel back on  you can use a socket and torque wrench on the other end to get the proper torque on the front axel.

I bought the wrench for the busa and made one from an allen wrench (cut a 3" section off) for the front axel of my triumph.

My '99 front axle is different.  I use a large hex socket to remove.  When did Suzuki change over to the other style axle?

they switched in '01 or '02 I think the earlier ones used a 22mm socket

You can just go to a bolt & nut store and get a bolt with a 24mm head, and two nuts to tighten against each other (use thread locker) then you can remove, and install the axle for under $2.00.  :D
