Just left for Bonneville - past exit 265 - and updating on the road.  Will keep you all updated on our progress at the Salt.  If you want to see any pictures along the way, let us know.  http://www.landracing.com will be updating several times during the day - hopefully giving a morning, afternoon, and evening update.  I'll get a bunch of pictures of Hank's shit, but Hank won't be there until Monday or Tuesday.  Make sure you let me know if you guys want pictures of anything else while I am out there.  Salt conditions reported hard and smooth.  Should be a good event.  Will be meeting up with Joe A in a couple of hours.

Just passed thru Salt Lake and making last leg of trip. Driving out there sucks, need to find internet business and stay in wendover.

Looking forward to the event, not looking forward to tech inspection but we will see, could be a breeze.

Scott, I have several tires I will be using first a road race shaved tire as per the rule book, then I have a touring tire ZR, and also a new and used ZR Dunlops D207 and D208. I hope I will only need the one thats on the bike. I may have better luck with the tires due to not putting out the horsepower that the bigger bikes are, you know the 180 hp kind on 599cc and a relatively low amount of boost setting 8-11.

JoeA has a new paint job on his old school 998cc ZX10. Anybody remember those bikes :)

Weather looks good with a couple chances early in week for evening T-storms.

Already seeing alot of Bonneville Racer traffic....

Joe Amo MPS-BG 1000cc shakedown  run 197 mph in first 2 1/4, ran over something on course and shreaded tire,

John Minnono 1650cc turbo Harley first pass ever on salt with bike 227 mph on short course

John Wennerberg ZX12 1350 MPS-F on motor only 204 mph. Nitrous to come tomorrow. Real contender for fastest nitrous bike on planet.

Jack Christer MPS-BG 750cc 204 mph, qualified on record unable as of 6 pm to make backup run due to electrical problem

Jason McVicar M-G 1000cc R1 on nitrous 197 mph open bike.

few others but dont remember at this point.

Rick Yacoucci 297 mph with Hayabusa powered streamliner, turbo'd, this was a shakedown run only, his 1000cc destroked Hayabusa motor turned over 315 mph last year. This year this year bigger motor, about 630 hp. Should see a speed around 330-360 mph.

Nish fastest car of meet 369 mph in mile 375 mph out the back door. THis is with "The Little Motor" accourding to Nish, only 530 CI, the 700 incher comes in October to go after Al Teagues record of 409 mph.

Jon / Scott, is Al Teague related to "Doug" Teague that was the engineer in Detroit that was very serious in Aerodynamics and made the seats a lot of us used in the early 80's!

I talked to Rick, he ran 328 mph and is in impound, the bad news is he lost all of the teeth for sixth gear on his Hayabusa powered streamliner car..he should be able to run 300 or so with only fifth gear tomorrow morning for a new record around 314 approx..the current record is 260 mph..he will let me know tomorrow if I need to send him a transmission so he can stay in the same class he is in now..

No fast bikes yet other than Jason at 197 (open 1000 R1 with NO streamlining) and John Minnono at 227 mph..HD witha  turbo and bodywork..

Danno ran 197 on a shakedown run and no news since.

Jon Amo, thanks for the updates :beechug: ..anything new to report?

John,

When you say the R1 is "open", do you mean no fairing?? As they say naked.....or just no streamlining. There was a guy at Maxton that went ~175 on motor, and 196-198 on NOS in april.

Scott when I joined the Bonne "two" club in 2002 you said there was only about 36 members for bikes at that time, since then I can think of 6-8 more..

Regarding the comment about "only" 18 people have set open records...I am sure that you must mean over 200mph or something else as I know several current racers that ride in non streamlined or "naked" classes.

Any other updates anyone..

I cannot see any updates on Landracing.com

WInd storm took out pits last night, im sitting here on access road at 6:30 am, cars are backed up over 1.5 miles long. Returns will be a little late this morning.  Winds so powerfull it moved a mini pickup and crashed it into a trailer with a good amount of damage.. Storm came out of no where.

Two intesting bikes came to harley powered dual engines, Bob Moreland has one that is over 5000cc. (based on two tribute motors) can be seen on my picture page. http://www.landracing.net

Minnono ready to make another run on his harley 1650cc aps/bpg, going to be very fast on this pass.

Havent seen hank yet. Danno made all required liscense passes.

Noonan, refresh your pages on browser look in the commentary link for the updates, twice a day. or anybody can call me at 303-880-5785.

ok now we are moving closer to entrance and its 7:53 mountain time.

Talked with Danno today. He has gotten his Hayabusa up to about 210 mph. He said when high boost comes on over I think 9000 rpm his just hits and pulls so hard, the wind came under his helmet and pulled it up over this head. He thought he leaned out really bad and had some blow by. He was back in line again, and wasnt going to go over 9000 rpm where it was lean. He is without a laptop to play with the map, I think he might be waiting for hank to come to use it.

Jon, tell Danno to turn his fuel pressure up about 3-4 pounds and see what it does, I never mapped my bike EVER in ALL of the trips to Bonne, EL Mirage etc..
I ran between 42-46 pounds of fuel pressure.

He has a NLR kit, I had one also before I got the Velocity system on the Busas.  His kit should be able to run around 240 mph plus..
