Just got back in, the meet from about 2 pm on was shut down due to wind and rain. Wind gusts over 30 mph, left some standing water on course around the 1 mile. This standing water could be swept away by the wind overnight, and to a point help cure the salt. Looks as if most of the rain was north of the salt, but it did leave some. Thats why it is important to get to the meet early, and set records early, and not leave anything for the "End of the week" because end of the week could be Tuesday, like in 1992 when the rains hit, left 2-5 inches of standing water on the course, took 2 days to go away, then racing resumed with less then favorable conditions.
Anyways, Joe Amo only went 237 mph on another qualifing run and is in impound, he had a intake sensor go bad when in high gear, the 5 volt ref voltage screwed with all other sensors on bike causing some erractict reading to the ECU, not good. We have fixed the problem and will run again in the am.
Jason McVicar also hit impound with a with 170+ speed in an open bike class.
