Here is the link to the photos of the damaged carrillo rods I said I would post. Look at the beating this rod took and it all stayed together saving the cases and block.

Jay - what causes oil starvation? Is that something that can be avoided in the first place?

If Im not mistaken, those rods are out of a blue Busa running SBS. Ive seen 'em before.

In this case, oil starvation was caused by the bike accelerating so hard that all the oil in the motor was forced to the back of the oil pan, leaving the pump pick up out of the oil.

A good oil tray with the swivel pick up would have prevented that.
