When you put a busa motor in a 03 gsxr 1000 do you have to cut the lower plastics to get the busa motor to fit?  I saw one 01 1000 with a busa motor and he had the lower half of his plastics cut off.

yeah i was wandering about that cause i like to keep my plastic body.i like the stocker look.and i am curious how many gixxers out there that want to put the busa engine in their frame?.acually what my goal is to put the muzzy hayabusa big block in my gixxer but i dont know if its going to fit.

When I did the 600 and put all the stock body work back on with only a few small amount of trimming to fit but still very stock appearing. On the 1000 I only did motor mounts but I am sure it could be done very much the same way..As for the Muzzy big block like I posted before the only difference in motor would be a slightly higher deck height and when I make mounts I prefer to have motor and rolling chassis to make sure all mounts are made to right specs so there would be no problem in mounting and chain clearence regardless of stock or big block...

I am in the Winston-Salem area of NC. to start I didnt use a airbox just had a fiberglass heat shield type pan under the injector bodies and ran fine but due to the different motor and placement in the frame the busa airbox wouldnt fit and didnt even try a 600 airbox so I made a top for the fiberglsss pan and molded the together to form a airbox.

Doug,,no pics yet he made the billet cases himself and they won the dyno shootout in Daytona with it in the spring. He is going to build the frame and most everything else himself but he has been so busy he hasnt got a chance to start the chassis yet....

That older style Gixxerbusa is gonna be one hellufa sleeper bike!!!

I would love to see some of the faces of the fools that get smoked by it!
It is not so much about you owning the Bike as it is the Bike owning a part of you.
