There is a cool chick on here (Rickster), that is about your size, and she has a Busa. In fact, she has ridden over 200 mph at Bonneville.

But the Busa is not a bike for Beginners.

Welcome aboard.  :)

Hi, Brian!  :D   Actually I'm a 5 foot runt. The main reason I bought a busa is because it was the only bike that I could ride with my feet touching the ground.  I lowered my busa about 3-4", and that has definitely affected the suspension and maneuverability; they both aren't what they could be (it also bottoms out sometimes when I hit a dip).  And I hacked away at the kickstand so much, it looks like a black party weiner.  Fellas, try to refrain.

Don't get me wrong; I love my busa and I wouldn't trade it for any other bike, partly because the power/speed are unparalleled, partly because I'm a poser and I like being a chick on a busa.  There, I've said it.  :D But sometimes I do wish I had a lighter bike.  I couldn't find a lighter bike that I could lower enough; they are like riding a horse.

My suggestion is that if this is your first bike, you might want to start with a 750 or a 1000, because if you start on a busa, you may get spoiled on the power and you may not appreciate the power a 750 offers.   Unfortunately, I can't because I've turned into a power/speed whore, plus I live with a gearhead who let me ride his turbo busa, so I'm screwed. 8)  :D

Hello! I heard that you are the 'cool chick' of the board... :D

Thanks for the comments...you are WAY ahead of me!  I know what you mean by being spoiled to the horsepower. It's kind of like watching NHRA then going to your local track watching guys "go fast"...lol.

Regardless...I'm still learning.

I'm regressing. I used to ride a Hayabusa, now I want a Kymco 250cc 'Bet & win' (true name  ) scooter. I'm tired of fighting off the women, I just want to ride.

Ain't she a 'looker'? 348 lbs, 80 mph. The 'Busa' of the non-giant scooter world.

Steve said with obvious enthusiasm:

Burgman 650 !!!

Not for SV1000 or ZRX money. The Honda 600 and the Burgman are what I was referring to, relatively, when I said the Kymco is "the 'Busa' of the non-giant scooter world".

In my mind, a 'scooter' is a smallish two-wheeled conveyance. The 250 has just enough power to be useful, and it still looks like a more or less conventional scooter.

By the way, I'm hot for an SV1000 Suzuki right now. I may have to get one this spring. That could be my 'do-everything-pretty-good' bike for 05'. :drink:

I like the "Naked" SV-1000 or SV-650 better than the one with the shroud on the front.  Should be a real good all around bike.

Yes, the 650 is pretty Hi-dollar but think what fun it would be to smoke all the Harleys with a "Scooter" !!!

Thought you were "On the Road Again"  ??

Never mind - didn't see the "Last Bus to Omaha" post.

So your basically in Dennis's backyard... If ya don't make the trip to Chicago, I'm sure he'll have 4 or 5 Busas to choose from. Just don't ride the ones that have big round things under the radiators.  :lol2:
