Is it easier to pop the front wheel with the TRE installed?
« on: April 18, 2006, 09:56:46 PM »
Is it easier to power the front wheel off the ground in the first couple of gears with a TRE installed?

The reason I ask is...  if the timing is no longer retarded in the first 3 gears, you'd think that the power would come on faster, thus putting power to the back wheel quicker in the lower RPM range.

If this is the case, then what do you guys think is the reason that some ppl say that they lose time in the quarter?

Since it has been documented that the TRE does not affect peak horsepower, it kinda doesn't make sense that it would adversely affect quarter mile times, especially if you're supposed to have more grunt in the midrange.

No need to pop the front wheel.  All you need to do is roll into the throttle w/ the TRE installed and it will come right up.

Maybe because they're fighting the front end more in the first 60 feet? Lofting the front wheel off the line will kill your 60 time.
