Best pipe for a '05 Hayabusa
« on: March 11, 2005, 06:57:51 AM »
I just bought a 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa 3 weeks ago and absolutely love the bike.  There's only one drawback, but it's an easy fix.  The stock mufflers are way too quiet!!!

My last bike was a 2001 Yamaha R6 and I had a Yoshimura slip-on pipe for that bike that I really liked.  I'd get another Yoshi pipe for the Hayabusa, bit I want something with a deeper growl rather than a high buzz.

What do you guys recommend for a pipe?  I want something dual exhaust probably more than a 4-2-1 setup.  Also, I'm probably more into sound than performance - I want that deep growl.  I'd also probably want something that came as a high-mount, although I am not sure if I lose my rear pegs that way.

Can you post your recommendations, personal experiences and pictures?  Also, I know there is a website to listen to exhaust setups on different type cars; do they have that for motorcycles?

HMF makes a full dual system with an "X" collector that has an awesome sound and makes pretty good power...

I put a BDE gen111 on my 05.Great pipe.  You might want to go to Brocks website and look at new bike parts packages.

I have heard that there are some fitting issues with the Hindle pipes which requires the oil cooler to be bent and heat tiles on the fairings.  Ha s anyone had problems with the fitting?

The oil line on #1 side was touching my pipe it was a simple matter to bend it about 1/16 so it was not touching. The remaining clearences were good. #8 x1.25 exhaust studs would be recommended especially on #2 and #3 lower header flanges.

I saw a picture of the high-mount system on their webpage, but the quality is so low that I can't see !@#$  Anyone got a better picture of this pipe or similar setup?

THX for the info.  I am trying to decide between the Hindle, Muzzy and HMF Big Bird.  So that helps quite a bit.

It is nice to have so many choices for a bike, but it makes it difficult to ultimately decide on anything!

Run a Yosh full SS system with a carbon can. Sounds great. I've heard that D  & D were some of the loudest...probably deep toned as well.

All I have to say is I am proud of my Yosh RS-3. Good sound, nice looking and of course runs great.
