BTW the answer is.....................
Balls

seriously

and http://www.suzukihayabusa.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=25382

as far as saftey wiring, you cannot wire too much
the guy teched me really fast because he saw I saftey wired things that are not required so some stuff like my drain plug he didn't bother checking
because he knew I had done everything
and remember it is much easier to saftey wire stuff at home then there at the track
and leathers must have metal zippers
wheels must have metal valve caps

and remember it is mandatory to smile during the shutdown cause its a blast

A buddy wants to go with me this month
He is going to run his bandit 1216
He is really getting agravated with the fact he can't find the true list of what he needs to do to his bike
I know what I did to mine... is all the same things needed even tho he probably will only go what I go in 1/4 mile on spray?
Metal valve stems and caps or just caps?
what to wire?
tire tread level? speed rating?

If your running the juice,  you will be required to safety wire the drain plug, radiator cap, front axle pinch bolts and front axle nut.  Rear axle nut, front brake caliper hanger bolts, rear brake caliper hanger bolts, a kill tether switch, use only water wetter in the radiator (no glycol), a full length chain guard, metal valve stems and a couple other things I'm sure I forgot.  You need to buy a rulebook to be class specific.  This is just a few things I am sure you need to do (I think). Oh yea, if you go faster than 175mph, you'll need a back support.

Not wanting to speak out of place, but the thing I believe that gets most bike riders in trouble at the inspection is current SNELL helmet, (preferred) 1 piece leathers with protection, road-race boots/gloves, and no drag slicks.

Personally, I would strongly recommend metal stems and caps.

I don't have my rulebook in front of me right now, but I thought it was 175.  Could be 200, but having one is good insurance.  If your leathers have them incorporated in them, I don't think you need a seperate one.

Stock plastic or metal chain guard?

I heard over 250mph, you will have to safety wire your Butt Cheeks
to the seat!

It must be full length and run from the front sprocket to the rear.  And yes, My butt cheeks use the optional sphinctor suction safety seat.

Typically a stock chain guard will pass tech at Maxton.  Sometimes they hassle you sometimes they dont, luck of the draw I guess on who you get for an inspector.

Just go buy and follow the rule book.  You can never go wrong that way.  No reason to shortcut any rule.  It's what's not in the rulebook that is interesting.

What do you mean by that??????? :?  :?  :?  If you follow the rule book,
I would hope they would honor your entry. Or is it similar to Goliad and
they spring some new rules a couple weeks before race. Or is it
more politicaly based.

Should of read the rules... :bah: Could have "borrowed" one to get past tech..?

I have always brought spare parts to assist the other racers that "forget" the rules..the main one at Bonneville is the chain guard rule.

The Bikes at Maxton would not pass..most of them that have been posted run chain guards that are way too short....

He decided to go and wasn't sure there was time to get the rulebook
Rules are not posted anywhere, only in the rulebook
DaveO had one off a busa that I tried four hours
to get it to work
then a guy from one of the teams(sorry I forget who) came with theirs to try ,At that Point I was having HUGE problem with my bike so I wasn't paying attention why they couldn't get that one to work and

I'm surprised the problem didn't show up at NED during the Streetfighter race.

Maybe vibration is causing that chafed wire to short out.

Or maybe it's a loose wire.

Or..

Try disconnecting the TPS from the datalogger.... I read somewhere on sh.org that the TPS doesn't like to be tapped for data.

I tried disconnecting everything from the datalogger
I tried the tether
Sidestand switch
cam sensor
cranks sensor
ECM
disconnecting the powercommander
next thought is either tip over switch or a short it the sidestand wire somewhere
Gotta finish my coffee and pour another cup and go out into the garage
It is really too bad that this ruined it for Jim
Bike seems to refire instantly
