Thanks. Heres a pic of the prototype short canister.  It is VERY rough looking because I just hacked up one we would not sell to do the proto.  Proto is 14" and production canister will be 15.75"(standard long is 19").

Yea that short canister will look more symetrical to the size of the bike..
that new 1000 is tiny..

Thanks for the pic and good luck to you.. :beechug:
previously owned a 01 blk/gry Busa little of this little of that...oh yeah and a ghetto turbo 320horse/200ft.lb. 8.92@169

I MADE MORE HP ON 91 OCTANE
THAN 87
2 MORE HP
MIN OCTANES SUPPOSE TO BE 90 SON
YOU CAN HEAR THE ENGINGE RATTLE WITH LOW OCTANE FUEL
89 VS 93 IS NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE

Wonder how it would do with a 12" canister? and son like, Especially do a 12" CF Yoshimura dual Tip Tri-Oval.

I was thinking a 12" might cause more dip between 5 and 6 than desired.

Also going with the 15" in production in order to meet decible level requirements for Prostar.

Just used 87 because I had 10gl around and too cheap to buy 93.

Son? I'm probably a lot older than you think Dennis.  :D

ok what about doing this to a Yoshimura Tri-Oval Dual tip cut to 12" or 14" or 15" do not care about decible.

Also what about doing the above with BirgBird cans?

And those both being Carbon Fiber.

wonder what 12" in a tri-Oval dual tip, as well as a BigBird can would turn out like.

And by the way chunter, looks pretty cool compaired to normal side makes it look very preportional to the bike.

What is best position for a Busa or 1K( to get a the maximum angle leaning and as low to the ground on a twistie, when leaning into it) and what is optimum size for a can for both as well?

Keep the stock exhaust. That way, when I hear something coming up behind me and all I hear is chain noise, I'll know that I'm about to get passed by an '05 Gixxer 1000 and I'll get ready to jump in his draft when he goes by.

FIRST OFF
1 PULL IS BULLSHIT
ITS ALWAYS SUPER LOW
LETS SEE PULL 2 3 AND 4
PROBABLY ABOUT 156
NOW MAP IT
PROBABLY CLOSE TO 160
NOW SWAP FUEL
UPPER 160S
NOW PIPE
BIG DEAL

Particularly when the first pull is on a bike fresh out of the crate.........I am thinking when broken in and tuned mid to upper 150's. Broken in, tuned, 0W oil, race lid and pipe........mid to upper 160's. 7 to 8 more with MR9 for a total of 175 SAE or thereabouts which yields high 150's mph in the quarter.

I came up a little short. I was at 175 SAE which could possibly be 180 STD. But I left out tightening up quench, degreeing and other "adjustments" that could easily add 5 HP or so.
