got a used a&j contoller. How big of a jet can you safely run with one nozzle?

You should be using a dual nozzle system, with either 2 # 24's or 2 #26's in it.
It makes for better nitrous distribution across all 4 cylinders.
But as nomrlz has shown, it can be done with 1 safely.
