Launching your bike - at Maxton, Texas Mile Etc.. How To
« Reply #25 on: April 25, 2005, 10:30:42 AM »
That really sucks  , post on wanted section and I am sure some good people will come up with parts for you. Hope this does not discourage you from coming out to the mile. Its a lot of fun and you do not have to launch hard from the line.

Any more info or little tricks anybody wants to share would be really nice.

Thanks - Will be getting a quote today or Wed for the restore on the bike .. Air-Tech seems to have the best deal on the plastic - am sure the least expensive way to go is to make it a "Track-Only" bike - sans stock gauge cluster - This time it will be lowered and extended -

again chad is awesome as a rider.
and we only made one run in the 201 range because chad had three other bikes to ride after mine
but yes 192 on motor and 201 on spray
chad only used it in 5th and 6th gear
he basicly skips 4th so the rpm range in 5th is greater and we ahve more time at 200 hp than 150ish hp
you coul put a dry shot on your bike and go 200 easily.
just call schnitz ang get the kit
just remember to take out a little timing and run some good fuel when on the spray better safe than sorry when at 200

Hope to see you all there, where are you flying into? Do you have private plane or something?   Houston, Austin, San Antonio are probably the closest comercial place without flying on a tin can to jump over to victoria.

Would like to see you do 205. It would be the fastest bike out there that was not a Busa

What other bikes might you be bringing?

Thats to cool will be nice to have a bunch of bikes out and sounds like some fast ones at that. :D  :D  :D

It will still be a little warm in Oct. I believe it was in the 90's last Oct. Never been in July :1: , but it must feel at least 120F on tarmac with humidity. :(

A plus though is the track is smooth as glass :D  :D  :D

Looks like it will about 3 weeks before the gixxer is out of the shop -- all the body shops are pretty busy right now since it is the riding season..just going to rebuild it into a "Purpose" bike for the drags and the mile --

Really like the feel of the gixxer 1100 - it's a little heavy but it feels more stable - (except when it's trying to lay on top of you!    )

Still no sign of my Busa at the dealer --  There is another dealer that has one but I am going to be true to my regular dealer and wait a little while longer..

This thread has really brought up a lot of great info - Thanks Again everyone...

I'm under 140 pounds again, but just barely at 139!

My leathers fit pretty well, but I'll still lose a few more pounds, just for the hell of it!

Amen brother :kickass:

The "Tiger" had some last minute changes made to her so it's another 50 pull Dyno session.  I'm making some nitrous delivery changes and starting over on my tune-up.  Going to use the Wayne Pollack approach,
SLOW, RICH, LAZY and lots of it.  I'm thinking I won't be fast until October, but May should pan out some interesting results.  I've had great luck with a new richened high end power band approach, same as the car boys.  I'm tired of rebuilding these damn motors.  see ya soon,

I'll let you know after Maxton where the real test will come.  But all bench testing and dyno results look good.

I do not understand what the difference is, :?  :?  :? If they Both (Pulsoid and solinoid) put the same amount of nitrous and fuel in. Is it that one lags or can not metered as well with a progressive shot, or ............

I am an idoit so if you get a chance just a summary in plain English.

It's a matter of consistency and flow on every run and especially for such a long period of time.  I have had failures with both the NOS and NX large solenoids when pulsing and flowing for more than a 10 second burst.  I'm on the juice for over 17 seconds and all I can tell you is that it's a difference between night and day when it comes to continuous performance.  The pulsoids works in a much different manner than a NOS or NX solenoid, minute momentary reverse flow seems to be an issue with them when pulsing at higher frequencies.  I run my pulsoids at 35pps instead of the basic 25pps with NOS or NX.  I can achieve a higher pulse rate allowing me a smoother flow that I could never get with my old ones.  I'm learning to tune for torque and not HP, big difference.  I hope that makes more sense for you and I don't think you're an idiot.

I am still an idiot :D . Can not wait to here your results Guy. I have heard that solenoids do have a problem staying open for long periods. Will have to break down and visit Nos Wizard site to see if I can figure the mechanical differences between Pulsoid and solienoid. I beleive I will be able to understand it better that way.

Can Not wait to hear you guys run at Maxton with good weather. I think 230 will be your number Guy

You all need to come out to Goliad sometime, Its just so smooth.  :D
