Hi All

First post here so please bear with me.

Just bought some Yoshimura stage one cams for my busa, I need to re-shim the head before fitting them.

what performance gain am i likely to see with fitting these, will it give me that little bit more mph up top ?

at the moment i am running, small airbox mod, bmc filter, full yoshi rs3 system, PC II, ram air inlets sealed.

thanks

I think the general consensus is about 10hp or so with the stage 1's...  I just installed some myself, but haven't tested them out yet.

BTW, welcome to the board.  :D

I saw a 9HP gain with the Yosh drop ins. Not really sure if that is worth $1000......

thanks for the reply chaps... not to sure about the price now either £695 UK£

my busa is currently putting out 175 bhp with the mods i have so these yoshi cams should push it to around 185 bhp, which is on par with most modded 12r`s around here..

I am aiming at the magic double ton 200mph

thanks for the welcome.

I gained a solid 2mph at the dragstrip (only got in one pass so far, though).

$450 for the cams, $30 for a new valve cover gasket, installed/setup by myself for free (I did have to buy a degree wheel since I didn't have one).

what about the shims ?

did you re-shim the head as the standard valve clearances are not suitable for the yoshi cams ?

Here in the England things are expensive to say the least... we have VAT ( tax ) added to all things at 17.5%

if i bought from the states I would get hit with import duty, VAT and ?? rip off britain is here...

example diesel is £4.60 per gallon how much is diesel over there ?

thanks for the help.

Just cannot see how you can fit these cams and not re-shim the head the valve clearance on both cams are miles out to the standard busa cams ?

These were used cams, no break-in necessary...

Valve clearance was checked and was well within spec.

Now fitted these bit of a bitch to keep the cam chain on the wheels, had to use three cable ties on each wheel then put the cam chain tensioner on, all OK now.

Done the required 250 miles running in, changed the engine oil / new filter.

will now have to wait until weekend to test them fully.....
