When is Maxton's next meet? Isn't it this weekend, or am I wrong. How many meets have you guys had? If it is this weekend, hope you all have good weather, stay safe, and good luck.

P.S.: I heard that some heavy hitters are holding out until October to end the season with a bang   . Anybody have the scoop on these guys?

The entire schedule is at www.ecta-lsr.com. As for the heavy hitters. I saw 5-6 runs in the 255 mph range last meet so it sounds to me like the heavy hitter was there.

Don

PS yes the next event is memorial day weekend.

Sorry, I forgot to put nitrous heavy hitters :D . Has Maxton run twice this year? I have heard that the wind was real bad once, but what about the other time? What has been fastest nitrous bike this year?

As listed earlier the schedule as well as the past results, new records are all at the above link. Yes there has been two event so far. March and April.

Go to the site and look around there is a lot of info there.

I have been to the site, it does have a lot of info, but not what I was realy asking for or I can not find it. Wanted to know what the current fastest nitrous bike for only 2005 is. Also if anyone knows what has been the fastest N/A bike for 05 also.

Hope weather holds out for you all  :D

records are not kept by year but for the life of the event. So the only way to find the fastest bike in a given class such as nitrous which is (/F ) class meaning FUEL as opposed to gasoline would be to go through the run log under meet results and find it there.

You could also find the Natrually aspirated bike info there too. All blown bikes are listed as B/F or B/G meaning blown fuel or blown gas. So any bike listed as APS or MPS could meet your rule set as long as they are not followed by f which is fuel.

These land speed classes are kindy complicated as you can see. All that on top of pushrod and non pushrod classes plus about 10 different displacement catagories too.

Yeah, I kind of saw that, but I am unfamiliar with the coding system, thanks for clearing that up for me. Where on the site do you find that F/fuel is for nitrous. Is there a listing of other things F/fuel could be used for, such as nitromethane, alcohol, oxygenated, diesel, Nitro-methyl-acetylene  , ect.? Thanks again. :)

In the section for records all the way at the bottom is the key for the classes. Remember there are FRAME classifications, fuel classifications, as well as blown and CC groups.

SC Sidecar / PG Push Rod Engine: Gasoline
S Streamliner / VG Vintage Engine: Gasoline
  / UG Unlimited Engine: Gasoline
/ BG Supercharged (blown) Engine: Gasoline
/ PBG Push Rod Supercharged (blown) Engine: Gas
/ VBG Vintage Supercharged (blown) Engine: Gas
  / F Modified Engine: Fuel
/ PF Push Rod Engine: Fuel
  / VF Vintage Engine: Fuel
/ BF Supercharged (blown) Engine: Fuel
  / UF Unlimited Engine: Fuel
/ PBF Push Rod Supercharged (blown) Engine: Fuel
/ VBF Vintage Supercharged (blown) Engine: Fuel
/ U (Omega), Steam, Turbine or Electric

Yeah, I saw those too, but did not know exactly what applied to what.
Did not know Nitrous was designated as F for fuel and others. Will work through it, just thought someone might know off the top of thier head.

Fuel is for anything other than gasoline. Like nitrous, nitromethane, alky etc

Oxygenated gasoline is sold trackside and can be used in gas classes but it is not as good as MR9 or U4 gas etc.

DaveO holds the fastest N/A pass for the year at 208.xx ...

I'm not really sure about pure "F" this year. I'm planning on running in the June meet with juice, but I can't make this time...

Me.  221.735mph (fastest nitrous that is)

Hope to see you there, of course, that record will come tumbling down this weekend.  I hear Lee Shierts is gunning for me.  Since Lee is on my hero's list, I hope he does, but I will be defending that title to the end.

I think he was specifically looking for 2005 ran bikes and as I recall you set your record in 2004 right guy?

The Lee shierts bike you are talking about is actually mine. But I really dont think we have anything for your motor package. Though with Lees aerodynamic advantage it could get close. I am thinking if all goes well on our 1397cc busa with a shot on top that we will be happy with 215-220 in good winds.

Lee just wants some of your money I think !! This is the same bike we are using your parts on for the seat and tank quick release and the chain guard etc.

Never happen, everytime we take a step forward, they leap 10 feet.  Theoretically possible...yes.  Probable...not without changing the laws of physics anytime soon.

Don't sell yourself short Guy, right now as it stands you have all the turbo bikes beat, except three. If you make 225mph there will only be two, Knecum's and Yancy's (Harlot ) Bikes. If you supersede your expectations and run 234.5mph you will be in the hunt for one bike.

GOOD LUCK, I can not wait to hear results of the next meet. Saw some nasty swirling stuff on weather last night hope it stays North of you all.

me too.  I'm packed and ready, leaving at 0'dark:30
12 hour drive if my wife doesn't shop too long at the cracker barrel for lunch.  I'm not bringing the laptop, so updates will have to come when I return unless bergie or rotts4u bring theirs.  Been spending all day applying new vinyls to the side of the trailer and bike, polishing, waxing, cleaning, oiling, lubing, checking, rechecking, testing again, drooling, drink a miller, and pack some more.  Everytime I think I'm done, I look over and see something I need to bring with me.  Then just when I button up the trailer, I look over and see my spare tire and 2 cans of C-16.  damn, open everything back up, repack and situate everything.  If it isn't packed now, it aint going.

Talk to you all soon,

Guy

Actually Dave's best n/a pass(record) is 215.642mph in MPS/G from october '04, and i've seen enough runs on his data logger at a few meets that say it was certainly no fluke.  A very bright builder, tuner and rider!
