Whats The Scoop On The Brits
« on: May 25, 2005, 10:17:00 AM »
 Land Of Tea And Crumpets - Land Speed Races

I am sure most of you already know about the Brits running, but I thought I might post this for those of us who did not.

Sunday July 31st Judgement Day 6 at RAF Woodbridge near Ipswich top speed flyer action. The 2 mile runaway blast will be a true test of a bike’s endurance and aero’s.

For Judgement Day 6 it will be business as usual, running across the full weekend (30th & 31st July) runners will joined by the US-BC competitors on the Sunday.

US-BC competitors will run alongside the JD runners in the same queuing system and be allowed as many runs as they can fit in on the day - with the highest terminal speed counting to their points tally.

Judgement Day's genesis is quite simple. Many of the original 200mph members were embroiled in the debate as to which is the fastest production motorbike (which incidentally still rolls on today, some five year since the rivalry began!). Encouraged by optimistic press reports of 200mph motorbikes and exceptional power outputs the decision was made to sort it out once and for all and Judgement Day was born.

RAF Woodbridge, the UK’s longest available runway was booked, a series of classes were defined to group similar bikes from ‘showroom spec’ class 1 to class six with a list of modifications as long as your arm… and the rest is history… With Judgement Day 6 looming fast the debate rolls on and nothing is decided! - but to-date top speed honours go to a 228mph turbocharged Hayabusa from Holland.

However the JD events have developed into more than just top speed events, they are the highpoint of the 200mph calendar and bring the club to life at live events - with over 100 entrants, some quarters, a step thru challenge and campside tales and entertainment. It is not just about modified or stock Hayabusas and ZX12r’s – past runners include Bandits, Katanas, vintage exotica, even a Ducati Paso, it’s all about personal goals and achievements with no pressure and loads of support.

Will try to update when more info. is available or if anyone has the scoop on them please post. Thanks.

Any trips planned for an over the pond visit by Bud Busa or Guy's Tiger?
