Synthetic oil..engine temp??

so..I put Mobil 1 15W50 in today...ride home and my gauge is right on the midway line..usually its way under..and its 55 outside...pull into my garage and my fan is running which it never does on the way home from work. Anyone else notice there bike runs warmer?

..I know for sure my old bike ran 20-30 degrees hotter...it had a oil temp gauge. I thought at the time it was due to the clutches slipping..( the sensor for the gauge was right under the clutch cover.) But now I begin to wonder..it was the same red cap.
