Well depends who builds it, elevation, dyno, but mid to upper 180's on good gas would be in the ball park. KWS and Lee's and Carpenters advertize higher numbers. But speaking from years of experiance and endless mods the claims never come true. Cam timing and bigger tb's will make more but ya gotta make a decesion on what kinda of powerband ya want. We played around with several combos, some made 3-4 hp more but the low and mid was terrible. Personally, do the cams, and add small dry shot and you will make as much. Only downfall is he bottle refill and keeping the right pressure. As long as you don't get greedu with the jet size 40-50 hp ypo should be okay.

Be careful on who you have build it. I've got two friends with the same settup built by different guys. One flat out destroy's the other.
Do your homework and ask around. Everyone that you ask is gonna say the guy that built there's is the shit.

busa2001,
Performance Toys in NC built a 2001 GSXR1K for a 185lb guy.  It was a  3mil motor / 1070cc; almost identical to what you are describing you want to do.

With an 8" arm allowing him to pull 1.43 - 1.46 60s, he runs 8.7s at 155+.

He is 185 non-suited also .........

Not sure what power it makes, but that's what numbers it runs.

Hope this helps.

Dude, I had a 01, with everything you could do to it with 200+ at the wheel, and 02 with everything but headwork. The 01 didn't last at all the 02 still runs but I have to watch the temperature, I have a 03 with a ghetto and built motors don't compare. You'll have to keep refreshing a built motor so please compare cost.
