DaveO wins the Tiger Racing Nitrous Challenge
« on: June 06, 2005, 02:20:45 PM »
The May event at Maxton brought 5 new nitrous Fuel records for Tiger Racing and a new jockey too.

Dave Owens graciously accepted my offer to give me some feedback on the "Tiger's" operation, chassis setup, yada, yada, yada.  Damn if he didn't go fast and break 2 more records himself.  He went a blistering 221.4mph and came within 5mph of the track record ( mine...223.8 ) and won $100.00 from Tiger Racing.

Way to go Dave and congratulations on some damn fine riding.

Dave suiting up and getting last minute advice from Guy...like he needs any advice.

Dave getting his money from Guy.

Dave losing his money to his wife. :lmao:

Congratulations Dave on riding the "Tiger" to 2 new Fuel records.

Let's see, I post the reward, loan my bike to win the reward then I pay him the reward  :duh:   Dave rides the fastest aspirated Hayabusa at Maxton and is a great tuner and friend.
Don't worry Wayne, you're next.

speedK,  NO,   that particular record was done:
Two way,  Opposite direction,  nearly right at "2" hr
turnaround  (world finals event)

again though, I dont think I was going half as fast
Dave and Guy within 1 mile from a standing start...

Joe that is cool, remember that what they do at Maxton is awesome however it cannot be compared as they have much better traction than Bonneville or El Mirage.

On a run in 04 during the finals I Ran 234 GPS at the one mile and 250+ at the 2.1/4

Your run of 221 on and old school 1000 us still very impressive..

Congrats to Joe amo, Guy Caputo, and Dave Owens.. you guys work your ass off! !  and we are glad to see you prevail....

Thank you all.  My record is a Maxton record and I didn't know I had bested any speed until this post by Scott.  I thought I still had .8mph to go.  My goal for October is still a 230 run.  Wayne is sulking in the background because he really wanted to ride that weekend.  But he was pitted at the start line and I and Dave were in the pit area.  Wayne is also a damn fine rider and friend.  He wants to put Alky on the "Tiger".  I told him if we did, he could have the inaugural run.

Scott, just so that you know, Dave broke your old record and Jim Owens record.  I think Tiger Racing has all the fuel records tied up from 1650 on up in both MPS/F and APS/F.  We left S/UF alone.

Thanks again to all, and the best part was we came home in 1 piece with plenty of tuneup to use another time.

Thanks to John at JE for his awesome custom Nitrous Pistons and to Wayne, Scott, Dave, Rich and Lee for their track support, friendship and inside tricks to go faster.  My special thanks to my cousin Mike Caputo of Maximum Performance Cycles who built me a great nitrous motor.
