Must be a 2005 Gsxr1000. Bike should stock pipe, stock sprocket. I have stock pipe, stock sprocket. Race will be for fun. Or 100$ for a little more fun best 2 out of 3. Race from dig, 40 roll on, 70 roll on. If bike is modded, it should not have more than an aftermarket pipe.

my guess on those races would be (all riders skill being equal)

from a dig - Busa will pull because of the torque and the GSXR will have a hard time keeping the front end down

from a 40MPH roll - Busa will pull because (see above) and gearing

from a 70mph roll - the GSXR will pull the Busa because of less weight and better speed for it's gearing.

But, that is bench racing at it's finest right there...lol

Ditto...  A lot of it (if not all) will come down to the rider.  :D

I would like to see this race. Go over to Gixxer.com and lay down the same offer, I bet you would have a couple takers.

It would be nice to see one of the magazines do a test like the did with the ZX12R vs the Busa in 2003 but use the 12R, Busa, GSXR10000 and ZX10R in the 1/4 mile and maybe from 0 to 186MPH tests.

sweet good advise. Today after work I will sign up. At first I did not have to worry about the front coming up in first on wot unless I wanted it to. Now I have to be worry about the front coming up on its own in first and second, or at best keep it down enough so the front tires skims the pavement and handle bars move left and right.  But anywill it will be fun. if it is possible to record, it will. and oh, I plan to OUTRUN the gsxr from 70 and up :)

I ride them both and I can tell you, that gixxer is "Evil"! I wouldn't bet any hard earned cash on the busa? Expecially from a rolling start.

I have a video of a 2005 GSX-R1000 and another liter bike running side by side from a 70mph roll. The camera bike is a 2005 LE Hayabusa. The GSX-R (and the other bike) kinda walk from the Hayabusa. The Hayabusa rider is a good bit larger than the 1K riders, and he can't get deep into the acceleration for fear of giving the 1K riders a 100mph enema... but it's a very revealing (very neutral) video.

I wish we were a little closer, I'd be happy to take your offer. If the price was right, I could be coached into a trip to Cowboy Land. I'm sure your busa will do a bit better on top end and it may slightly out pull a gixxer above 170? but I can assure you, from 50 to 170 you best be praying the gixxer misses a gear? My gixxer will hit 170 before a cat can lick his haunches. At the track, I come out of the bus stop in low gear and I hit 170 at turn one.

the gixxer will walk it right up to the speed restrictors... been there, done it, twice, not pretty for the busa as the lead was fairly substantial, not only does the gixxer get away better, it continues to pull on the busa all the way to the limiter...

I am not sure if a poorly broken in gixxer will fair as well with a properly broken in busa but if both are broken in properly the busa cant get there, and I am not sure why you would expect it to? the gixxer has a bit more pull with less rotating mass, less wind resistance, and has a hunnerd pounds less fat?

I sure got flamed when I talked of seeing tis happen to me and my buddy on a 12r.   Other than a dead start where the 1000s cant launch hard.  they will tow a busa till the speeds get nasty.   I still have my busa and am keeping it.  sj
