I'm always up for a good shit stirring event.  Just think if we could get a a bunch of people to come out to play....  maybe a few Porsches and other high end toys....  Oh the possibilities are endless.

My Brother just finished the One Lap of America event and was 5th overall and 1st in class with a 700+ awhp Subaru...  Maybe we could just have a One Lap of Houston!!  Anyone up for a trip all the way around the beltway?

Got Chrome?

Great 3 yr old thread resurrection..... :?

BTW if this guy is still around....I would be more then happy to drill his ass with my 01 1000.   I am in Houston and love 2nd gear roll ons..... :D

I know the guy that Phantombusa was talking about at the beginning of this thread.  His name is Tony.  He had a blk/silv 05 1k.  Back in 06, the bike fell off of a trailer when both tie downs broke. It got totalled and he never bought another one.   But I will attest to the fact that his BONE STOCK 05 would FUCK UP busas from a 2nd gear, 60 mph roll.....PERIOD.  Actually he would fuck up just about everything, ZX10s, R1s, everything.  We were doing a lot of 2nd gear racing back then. More fun then anything else I have done with bikes.

Matter in fact, I got a video on here somewhere of me ass raping a 07 stock busa that dynoed 155hp on my 01 1000.  At the strip or top end, the busas will still run more mph but in a roll on race in any gear, a liter bike with a decent rider thats not too heavy will stomp it.  I can't wait until we get to play with some 08 Busas at our roll on race hot spot.

more than 3 years later, I am still here  :vl:

I have the infamous 2nd gear problem, probably along with shift forks also. Currently in the process of getting the bike
back together from a wreck I had June last year.

Watch this video.....you can scroll to 2:30, thats where we race.  Thats a stock hayabusa with a box mod.  Dynoed 155hp before the box mod.  My 01 1000 with a pipe/tune/+2 rear.  Same rider weight and skill.  From about a 60mph roll with him in 1st and me in 2nd.  With him starting in 2nd, its only worse.

Here is another one from when both bikes were stock.  Actually the 1000 had a D&D slip on but everything else stock.  We were both starting in 2nd gear, about a 60mph roll.  My bike was making 142hp, his was making 155hp, same dyno, same day. This one is pretty close.     :D

damn not bad for an 01 gix stock lol
I had a friend that had a 06 zx10, tune, arata full system, filter and weighed 150lbs
my stock busa and I weighed 200lbs.  I would always jump out first but he will pull me in and run
away from me. Until I did 16/42 gearing and that evened us up, I even won one! still on a stock bike minus gearing

Yeah 16/42 wakes em up pretty good until about 150.... :thumb:

Tommy, Chris got his 08 huh? Has he rode it any yet? I am sure he will be putting a BDE setup on it before long  :thumb:  He will be ready to profile it in October at the Mile.

SWEET setup.  I don't know if I would spray it though with the titanium valves..... Lots of people blowing up new Z06s spraying them with the stock Ti valves.  Everyone is pulling the heads and putting stainless valves in em.  Hell, just with his BDE stuff, arm and light wheels he should bust out some 8.90s-9.0s... :thumb:

Hello all,
It's been a long time since I've been on here, it's good to be back though. I just sold my 06 GSX-R1000 and bought an 08 Busa. For the riding I've been doing the past year and half (long trips) the Busa is so much more enjoyable. BUT I still think my 1000 was faster than the new Busa. Perhaps it's not but it just feels that way. I wish my bike didn't sell so quick so that I could have done a comparison race. I guess I'll never know, unless someone on here actually has done some roll ons with the new Busa???

bw, I had a similar situation.......I sold my modded 06 1k and still have my modded 03 Busa......my 1k felt way faster than the Busa, I think some of that has to do with the bikes reaction. The Busa stays more planted, the 1k was up in the air through 3rd gear most of the time, and a little skiddish at high speed runs (where the Busa felt planted). Going 150 on my 1k felt like 170, going 170 on the busa feels like 140.

That being said, I enjoyed my 1k more and miss the hell out of it........maybe all of that will change next week with the next step im taking the busa.

I'm trying to find some busas to run from second gear on my 08 ZX-10, but it seems all the ones around here are 1397s with big arms or show queens.  :(

There was an 08 ZX14 that was probably saying the same thing at our superbike shootout before he got spanked by an 02 GSXR1000

After a few high speed runs on the new Busa, I've come to this conclusion, in regards to comparing it to my 06 GSX-R1000: 0-100mph 1000 was much faster, 100-140mph both bikes about the same, and 140-186mph Busa is faster. I was able to do a bunch of roll ons with my friend who owns an 06 GSX-R750 and I used to run with him all the time on my 1000 so I remember clearly how those races went. On the Busa, the 750 walked on me regardless of what gear I was in till about 100 (we always start at 60mph) and then I'd real him in and pass him soon after that. That NEVER happened on my 1000, he was always behind me at any speed. Then we did a bunch of runs starting at 120mph (as we used to on 1000 too) and I left him in the dust perhaps faster than I used to on my 1000.
I'd still like to race a 1000 just to do an actual comparison but I think that is about as close as I'm gonna get. All my other friends own 600's.

OH....I thought you were local here since this was a local thread.  Panama City is a bit of a stretch....LOL :D

Yeah usually the 1000s are faster(then gen 1s) up to 150 or so...then after its a crap shoot.  Gen 2 busas are definetly faster then 1000s, hell, even a good running ZX14 with a pipe and a middleweight rider is faster then most 1000s. Hard to make up that extra 250-300cc.
