basically you have two different machines designed to do two different things...

the busa is heavy an meant for sport touring, so it has a lot of torque to lug its fat ass around effortlessly...

the gixxer is intended to be track bike, with cornering and straightaway speed in mind...

no doubt they are both designed to go fast...

better off racing literbikes with literbikes and busa with busas

Uh, no its not for lugging its fat ass around Twisted.

The Busa was made first to be fast as fvck, that was the sole intended goal.  Suzuki wanted the fastest bike in the world to carry their name on it and it happened.   Torque brings the bike to speed faster, the extra weight lends itself to the stability at speed.

Put a Turbo in a K5 and see how that chasis holds up @ 225mph. :D

While you are are all over the road trying to keep you K5 going in a straight line I am able to tuck in and take her easy, just hold it WOT and she goes stable as hell.

What are you going to do when a 70mph crosswind hits your Gixxer on hwy 20 @ speed?  A wind like that could likely blow you off the road.

The K5 was not made for straight line speed as much as the Busa was IMO.

I hit up some nice long 45mph sweepers today @ 120mph + and did a few nice straight line runs.   I gotta say I just love the Busa, it handles these kind of roads like a dream.

busa is a sport tourer, its wheelbase, weight and isolated ergonomics will tell you so...

suzuki could have went with a different bore, stroke, and comp ratio for a different power output, but with the busas broad shoulders and heavy ass it needs some torque to lug it around...

the gixxer is a road racing machine, for cornering you must sacrifice some of the comforts of touring such as weight, wheelbase and aeroes, but dont be confused WSB gixxers are rolling down the backstretch at a fair clip without a hitch...

when I ges hit with a crosswind I just roll with it, got blown off the road in death valley, didnt care for it much....

let me know when your down for it...

I am not saying its not a Sport Tourer...actually its a Hyper Sport Tourer...really its kind of in a class by itself save for the 12R and I would not include the K1200S as IMO it really is just a Sport Tourer.
Anyhow I am glad I kept my Busa vs going to a K5. I ride alot so comfort is important.  And the Busa engine is tried and true, proven durable and able to take the mileage and abuse.

Isolated Ergonomics? Ive never heard that term before, what does it mean?

Lets do it today... do you know of a few good spots?  You can film it right?

PM me.

A buddy of mine and I both raced a 10 last year from a 40 roll. It was ugly for the 10. I guess it was the rider. For added insurance I would put some good fuel in it :)
exhaust by Motorhead.

Looks like it will have to be Phantombusa, his friend I hope, and hopefully Kid Quick.  So dont worry, I will be calling you guys out really soon, wednesday HOPEFULLY. I am not bringing a camera (dont have the mount) just STRAIGHT ass whooping.

In your first post, you say if bike has mods, it can have no more than an after market pipe.  Im going to be honest with you, My Busa does not fit your demands, so you will have to make an exception to your own rules if you want to line up against the Busa.  My 1K, Ehhhh!  It's just a 03 1K, nothing special.  If you want me to bring the 1K, it will be fun, you will win, no big deal.  But if you really want to go for money, I will be on the Busa no doubt.  Im working on the swing arm right now, so Im not ready either.  SO, soon as I get the Busa ready, I'll call you and we can get it on.

Well if your pretty sure you could beat an 05 1K, I know you would beat my 03 1K.. I have raced against my buddy several times ( 03 VS 05 ), and the 03 just wont do the job.  The 05 is one hell of a bike, much better than it's older brothers.  I love that bike.  Im trying to sale my 03, so I can get me an 05 1K.  Id love to get that canadian all black model.

Also if you ever have a day off, we can go ride route 149 its SWEET ass rode with lots of STRAIGHTS and CURVES even lots of 15-20mph turns. Little to NO side streets. even a GREAT place to drag for real. Cops don't mind us there because so many do it and its secluded. its in Montgomery btw
