there's a guy up this way who rides Hwy 49 on a newer white Goldwing ( not sure which year) but he sure can rail.


Just watched the video. That guy can ride. Looks a lot like the guy up here on Hwy 49. had him on my ass one day and couldn't shake him. Gave him a lot of respect for throwing his wing 'round like that.

Haven't seen the vid yet, but it might be the guy they call Santa Claus. He and his Goldwings have been making sportbikers at the Gap look silly for years.  :)

That's some good riding! I am pretty sure that the camera bike chasing, is also a Gold Wing. Big windshield, you can see the vent in the windshield off to the left side, and that unmistakeable sound of a 6-cylinder.
I've ridden lots of them and them newer Gold wings handle pretty good for such a big beast of a bike. The GL1500's were a fine handler, but these new GL1800's are a very good handling machine.

I used to have an 03 1800 wing and it was a blast to ride in the twisties.  That other lower pitched sound you hear is the lower cowling scrapping.  I could not believe how stable she was even when scrapping the body parts.  That is why I got the busa.  I figured it would only be a matter of time before I took her too far over!

Go to the "Top Ten" section and click on Riding the Dragon Part 1... That's the only way I could look at it.... :wink:

dam...he was pulling away in a few spots.


that looks like Idllywild out here in CA near Palm Dessert off the 74. I've run it a few times and in the begining it has 4-6 long right hand sweeps that you can take at around 120 or so. it's a nice 20 min run

That guy on the Wing at Deals Gap makes his living by following the sportbikers and making a video of them going thru the Gap.  That guy has driven the Gap so much, he probably can go thru it with his eyes closed. :lol:

Did he used to have a yellow one , when we were there in sept 2003 a guy had a yellow one with a lady on back.
he was wheeling out of the gas station on the way up the hill, everyone was whistling, he was definately not scared of the gap on that yellow bus.
