« on: July 18, 2005, 04:43:43 PM »
I have an 04 Busa with the full BDE system...what do I need to do to make an all motor 210+ HP on pump gas with daily driver reliability?

A decent wad of cash that you are willing to part with.
I've yet to see a decent JE piston.  All the ones that have come through my door are big heavy clunky items.

Is it the combustibility of the paper that produces the HP?  Is a $100 bill more oxygenated than say a $5?

probably the cheapest route to 210rwhp, on pump gas, with reliability would be a shot of juice....
JE, TTS, Carpenter, Yoshimura, Akrapovich, TMH, BDE, APE, FBG, Lee Shierts, Schnitz, Orient Express, Stedman, Street n Track, Tsubaki, Kickstand Racing, Harris, AP Racing, Pro Machining, Spencer Cycles, HEL, NOS, NLR, Big CC Racing, Earl's, Pro-Bolt

I'd really like to make 210HP without juice first, then maybe add a good nitrous system later.

Take your stock setup get it tuned the best you can,get a n20 system and get another map made so you can have 150-77 n/n and with  the push of a button pick up another 50-60 hp and still have reliabilty of a stock motor at all times till you push it.

Ditto...  My 1397 makes 196hp on 93 octane pump fuel, a head that has been very lightly cleaned up on the intake side, and little Yosh cams.

I would think a well done up head (like a Carpenter) and more aggressive cams would do the 210hp easily.  I've seen plenty of good examples on here as a matter of fact.

My 1397 that I got from stock mild to wild did the best of 222 on pump gas and 230 on good gas (no not nitromethene  ) and I got a 40 shot on it.I think with the nitrous and pump fuel it was like 258 or so on the dyno :thumb:

I have not ran the new combo yet I had a Turbo and went to this new combo and have not been able to run it yet as we ran into a little snag with somthing on the bike and havent finished it yet.But Gainsville is my home track and Jax raceways is close by also. Im right in between both either one takes the same amount of time to get to.

1397 with cams and headwork.

George..your head is a little more than lightly cleaned up and the exhaust side has been opened up ..and all the way to the valves on both int and ex!!!

I made over 200 hp with that head!!!!

Didn't notice that the exhaust had been ported...   8)   Seems to be working pretty good regardless.  I wish I could find my missing trap speed, though.

Yep..It use to be pretty smooth in there but the carbon builds up fast!!!

I went 154MPH on a wheelie with that head..same pistons with only 2 intake cams!!

Do you have a full airbox mod and all short stacks??

maybe your MAP or gearing is off>or not hitting your shift points?

 :D

Small box mod, all short stacks...  Map seems to be about as good as it's going to get.  Gearing is 17/43 right now, and shiftpoints are dead on (MPS autoshifter).
