What do I need to make 210HP?
« Reply #25 on: August 15, 2005, 09:05:02 PM »
Is anyone using the Lee's Performance package on their bike?

He says his combo will make 215-225 HP (depending on the weather) on 87 octane with a BDE package and 205 with stock exhaust.

It sounds interesting and tempting.

Everyone saids 1397 are good to go and race and ride at the sametime. Now I gather that these 1397 kits blow head gaskets and spin bearing. Now someone come clean with this 1397 kit and answer this question. Can you ride the bike with this kit everyday to work 46 miles oneway, race it twice a month and keep it running without blowing a motor or blowing a head gasket or spinning bearings?

Someone come clean with me.

A nice set-up 1397 will run like stock only with alot more power :D . I have had mine for 3 years and most my cruising is in traffic and I have never had a problem starting ( 1 battery) or heating up. As a matter of fact, I would about bet your stock bike fan will kick on before my 1397. if you want to bet a quarter let me know, I'll time it and you can do the same :D

ON THE 870 MOTOR I DID ITS 12.6-1
SOMETIMES IT CAN KICK BACK WITH STAOCK BATTERY BUT ONLY WHEN BEAT TO DEATH AT THE TRACK BUT IT STILL GOES 870S ON ALL MOTOR AND SHORT WHEEL BASE WITH STOCK CLUTCHES ETC
AND IS DEPENDABLE ENOUGH  TO BE DAILY DRIVEN

I can't speak directly about a 1397, but I used to commute 110 miles each way to work. I first had an offset bored big block... that didn't last at all. Then went back to a stock block, bored & stroked and haven't had any problems at all. I do run dual batts and lots of upgrades to improve cooling but other than that nothing major. So I would say a well built motor can last.

You all are as bunch of Morons, I have a 02  busa with slip fit Weiscos, a ported head by a hick from Arkansas, and the intake cam mod. It  made 209 on MSPs dyno 2 years ago, and 207 on a dyno here in town.( Iowa) so Fuck your 1397s.  So spend your money on those BIG 1397s for the extra 3 HP.... This has run 8s with a 200lb rider.....

Something is escaping your attention......which is displacement. Mod for mod, the 1397 will always make at least 7% more HP than a stock bore. It is not coincidence that heavily street modded stock bores make around 185 while their big brothers make around 200 SAE, pump gas.
