K4 gearing?
« on: August 18, 2005, 08:16:41 PM »
Need opinions on going -1 up front on my K4. Only mod is Akro slip on.
A buddy of mine has a ZX12 with -1 up front and +3 out back and will pull me by about a bike from 60-ish - 140 ish. I wanna be able to at least hang or put the smack down on him.
How easily does it pull the front wheel in say 2nd or 3rd? Right now I CAN'T keep the front down in first when I hammer it. 2nd is no prob though. I also like to do wheelies in 2nd (powered up), I assume I will be able to power them up in 3rd with -1?
Thanks,
JP

you'll be ok The 04 1k I had was a handful in first and second with the stock gearing but if your holding the front down ok now I say go for it.
previously owned a 01 blk/gry Busa little of this little of that...oh yeah and a ghetto turbo 320horse/200ft.lb. 8.92@169
Bikeless....for now.
