where to buy pair plates?
« on: January 15, 2003, 03:09:00 PM »
Hey guys - I need to know if anyone know where I can buy a good set of pair valve block off plates?  I have heard differing opinions on whether or not I will need gaskets??  Any know where to look?

Thanks,
gynx

www.spencercycle.com
www.schnitzracing.com
www.muzzys.com

As far as I know, the only set that comes with gaskets is the one from Doug (spencercycle), but, you'd probably be ok with using hi-temp silicone around the edge.

or make them for free .

cut the tube about 1.5" from the flanges on the pair valve . crush the tube flat and bend it over and mash the "crimp" with some vice grips . put some red rtv on then re-install . done it a bunch of times... never had a leaker....

You did sell a bunch of them back in the day though!  I still have some of the bar stock that we made them out of.

Use a 6mm tap and tap the holes.
Put a 6mm screw in it and your done. cheaper.. lighter ( hehe ) and more fun knowing that YOU did it
