Exhaust/airbox K6
« on: October 06, 2005, 10:59:32 AM »
Can the K6 air box be modded to add horsepower like the Busa? What's a great pipe (HP) for the K6? I heard Termignoni was excellent

No air box mods.  I didn't know Termignoni made a exhaust for the 05/06 1000.

I have not really read up much on it yet .,..though I will.    Anyways I have not heard of an airbox mod but you should choose your aftermarket exhaust carefully because I have heard of guys actually losing power...at least down low where it really comes in handy.

Personally id like a slip on at some point if it can add 10hp with custom map and if its not too loud...I like the look of the Racefit exhaust.  Id also stick with Titanium since the rest of the system is , I have seen alot of guys put on SS pipes which seems kind
of goofy.

ThatTsukigi does look good..is it Titaninum?

This is the one I really like but they dont sell a Titanium slip on as far as I know...also I prefer the looks of short exhausts on the K5/K6.

I am sure yosh makes a all ti trc slip on.  You probably can't get it through a distributor.  You will need to call yosh directly or go through a dealer of yosh directly.  Yosh will make alsmost anything for enough money.  I will warn you right now that it will be costly.  I don't know what to do because I am not going to buy a new full ti system because they cost too damn much.  So I am trying to find a used full ti system for a good price. Preferably a akro, but also looking for arrow, leo vince, and yosh or whoever.  I really like the looks of the race fit, but way too much money for a slip on.
So I was thinking of just getting a yosh trc slip on, but really don't like the stainless on the carbon slip on.  To custom order a all ti one is too much.  I also don't like the looks of the slip on as much as a ti trc full system.  The back of the trc does not stick out as much and has a bigger pipe diameter on the full system.
I will just wait and try to find a good deal or piece my own exhaust together from used ones I find.  The stock exhaust on the 06 is pretty decent and it is not a big priority.  Getting the turbo bike running is top priority and I need all of my money for it.

Have you felt any performance increases with those mods?

it was about a 3month old full system and i got it cheap...i know where another system is...but its got a carbon fiber can..i have the blue/white 05 and i like how the non carbon fiber can looks on it....but this guy is wanting to sell local..but may sell if buyer pays shipping. i think hes wanting 1000...and im sure hed make whoever pay shipping...this guy is really picky about his bikes..and this system is flawless.
