Race Fuel Question.......
« on: October 07, 2005, 10:51:13 AM »
How long is it good for once open? And if stored in say something like a VP utility jug, does that or can that prolong the life of the fuel?

Also what is the longest you can leave the fuel in your take (sitting) without it doing damage? Last weekend I ran a full tank of VP's U4 with about a cup full left in the tank after the ride. I later put about a half tank of 93 in and ran that through for about 20 miles or so. I will not be able to ride this weekend do to weather but don't want to mess up something with it sitting in the tank... although it is only a small amount left.

try not to leave anything in your tank. Some race fuels are corrosive on pumps etc....

dont let any of the race gases sit in the tank it will eat the liner in them and its a pain to fix alot of wasted time you could be doing something else!

VP or Nutec will start going down hill as soon as its opened. We waited until just before the race to open a new can.
