Are the newer 750 forks the same diameter as the 1000 forks? And are they the same length? :?

Yes they are, only diff is chrome sliders and different colour anodising on the legs. I'm putting a set in a Busa with new clamps and have put the gixxer 1000 forks next to a set of 750's. O/A length the same too.

How are you modifying the lower clamp to fit the forks smaller diameter?  :?

There's  only 1mm difference. For me I'm going to machine up a new lower triple clamp, although you could easily have machined up  a "sleeve"  with a shoulder on it to fit between the 750 forks and the Busa clamp. The sleeve would have a wall thickness of 1/2mm ( 20thou ) and would need to be slotted .
