NLR Pro Street Tank

new tank...

shortened in the front enough that you can use the Scott's dampner and not have to take it off to lift the tank up. Uses the center bolt on the frame(normally used for the rubber flap that covers the valve cover which frees up the two stock locations for the steering dampner.   :thumb:

Oh yeah! This tank will not fit a stock frame. It's for cut seat rail applications only.

That was when I wanted to race Heavy Hitters(Mirock), where cut rails ar not legal. But after much debate I figured it wasn't worth waiting around to see if they would allow all types of intercooling. 

So I'm doing my own thing. I simply got tired of waiting on others to make up my mind for me, with rules changes...

The tail and tank really set the bike off. Hopefully they will allow intercooling sometime in the future that way you can get your shot at racing a pro class.  8)

man blackhawk, your bike looks fantastic man. even with no paint, it looks fast. should be killer when finished. hard to tell in pics, does tank have that nasty vent like the airtech stuff does or is it in gascap? :D also what length is that over stock tail? looks long!

The bike on the lift is not mine. Just the bodywork mocked up on a chassis.

Vent tube is underneath.

Tail is around 11" over.

no prob.

Of course my set-up isn't quite as smooth as the complete NLR style tank and tail. I had to run the 10.5" airtech tail cause I needed the extra 1.5"-2" of seat room.

Yeah Nemesis, that's an example of the craddle. "The General" is local and so are a few other Grudge Busa that have the craddle setup. I wasn't aware of the 22" min Glenn but then again, I don't know any of the rules since I don't participate in classes 8)

no you didnt, the saw zall did the cutting. You just put your finger on the trigger and held the saw. Not to many people do anything nowadays with machinery doing the work. Kinda like a machinist...they dont do the work...the machine does.

Have no idea... I think it's more that no-one makes one because the bikes are "supposed" to appear street legal. So all the aftermarket bodywork companies create bodywork with similar lines to stock bodies, with just sizing differences.

no way, I even put a level on them, and their damn close. Bubble is still 3/4 in the center, and there's no way on knowing if the bike is 100% upright in the baxley chock. Besides, I didn't want to get into the "litlle here, little more there" routine.

I figured with my skills, I'd end up cutting them down to the swingarm pivot before I got them perfect!   :lol:

I was more than happy with the results from my first experience with cutting frame rails...   :P
