Anybody running a 240 kit?
« on: November 12, 2005, 07:10:20 PM »
I was just wondering if anyone was running a 240 kit with a Metzler tire and 6 inch over swingarm at the track, and how it would compare to running a 6 inch over swingarm with a standard 190 series tire?  Would going with a 240 kit be an advantage?

We are just looking to get into racing a Busa at the track and are looking for some good ideas for the initial set-up.  We are wanting to extend the swingarm for sure.  I've been searching around for this type of topic but haven't found much of any threads on this.  Looking for someone to help out some track rookies with some good info.  Thanks in advance.

if you want to do anything besides cruise or show your bike don't use the 240 kit

I do not think there are any 240 performance tyres made. They are just for show and cruising like Nemsis said. You will be able to get a 190 that will hook up much better.

OK, so let's say we scratch the 240 kit idea and go with just a standard good sport tire and air it down.  Are we still going to benefit from going with a 4-6 inch over swingarm?  We are problably going be be under the 200 HP mark (for a while), lowered, and geared.  Thanks again.

get a shinko ultra soft 190. run 24 lbs of air. you should be able to sixty foot better with an extended arm, and be less prone to wheelie
