Anyone measure EGT on Nitrous bikes?
« on: November 26, 2005, 09:41:51 PM »
Are any of you measuring the EGT of your nitrous bikes? If so where did you mount the probe exactly? And what is a safe EGT to run on a bike? On my dodge diesel they say not to exceed 1250-1300 Pre turbo temp.

Any tips?

I exceed 1400* F on my Duramax on a daily basis

I think 1600-1650* F is the limit before bad things happen

just make sure you get all the sensors the same depth and
as close to the center of the inside of the pipe as possible
your gonna see 1400 degrees and above if you got the (fire lit)

guys be very careful with the "advice" that I and we
are throwing around.............

1400 on a turbo motor dont mean squat about
1400 nitrous motor temps........

center of pipe might be .01 degree more accurate.......
and 80 % more likely to fracture off and go though pipe...
and anything attached........ie turbine wheels.......etc........

you can have melted pistons and never see egt over 1300...........
