13.5 starting issues...
« on: November 24, 2005, 12:23:21 PM »
I can't find room for a second battey and don't wanna deal with the issue like that anyways.  Can i just put a second base gasket on my bike or maybe some sort of spacer that TMH may sell?

Ideas?

Thanks...

Gnd,

Put the 2nd batt in and be done with it....Seriously. I don't know why people seem to want to avoid it...but ALL of my customers who had the same opinion as yours...are now wondering why they refused to do it....everything else is a band aid...IMO

you rather pulling your engine apart than adding one more battery?
just put another battery it will be better & faster like DaveO sugested.

Yes.  I have no room for a second battery.  The motor isn't right anyways - 1397 that runs 123 in the 1/8th but only 147 in the 1/4... :x

What are your cams degreed at??

My 13-1 1397 started decent I had to crack the throttle a little bit but it always started..

Ive seen people put a second battery on the motor near the breather..

Anyone have pics of were to put one?/I also just read a post By Motorhead..it said you could put 2 stock battery side by side in his undertail!!

YOU NEED A SECOND BATTERY....tiger racing sells a bracket that fits on the right side of the tail section...and also as far as your 1397. I had  the same problem as far as horsepower, thats 1397 needs to breathe, head work may be needed, also a sidewinder, and you cam setup.......

Busa Lover - i don;t think that will fit with the slammed undertail.

E- i was looking at that last night - i am gonna work on the bike tomorrow and try to rearange some stuff but the 2 in the TMH section did not look like it would fit - i am gonna try it tomorrow..

DEPENDS IF ITS THE SLAMMED TAIL STARTED BOUT 6 MO AGO
BATTERY BOX WILL BE WAY OVERSIZED SO ITS EASY TO SEE
AND YOULL HAVE TO SHRTEN THE SBDRAM BOLTS TOO
OR JUST BUY 1 BIIG BAT TO TAKE UP ALL THE ROOM
STOCK AND THE ONE SMALL FIT EASILY

123 in the 1/8th but only 147 in the 1/4...???

I think some of it is gearing...

Gnd,

You don't need a big 2nd battery. I use the YTZ7 and put it next to the tail light. End of problem....just charge it every once in a while....put a tender cord on it.

I got the two batterys with 14.2 comp and it works great what little ive ridden it so far.I crack the throttle a1/4 open or so till she fires and it seems to turn over a little better with the throttle cracked.
