how low?
« on: December 06, 2005, 08:48:01 PM »
how low can you go with a busa arm with the top box still on?i have read that with it still on when you really lower the bike it hits is this true?i am planning on having the stock arm extended 4 to 6 inches but don't want to put the money in to it if it will need to be replaced to get the bike low enough.

Mine never hit on the 3rd hole of the lowering links.  If your going to get your arm done go ahead and get the no box mod now or do a gsxr600 arm conversion.

Be careful not to bottom out.

This is 3rd hole...

Beware of hitting your pan as already stated...  I smashed mine.   I went with a billet Pan.

Here it is now with the no-box mod and adjustable links even lower...  and new paint too. 8)

FYI - My lowers are chopped a couple inches for the added clearance the Pan allows.

Get the box mod now while your arm is getting done.  No sense in taking it apart twice.

why would i need to take it apart twice?if i can go low with out it being taken off then why bother?the bike is going to be a street/strip bike so it doesn't have to rub the fairings on the ground i just want it to look good and be low enough to hook up.

Geri's is that low with a stock arm. Once you extend the arm the bike will raise up some because of the angle of the arm in the frame so you will not be able to go very low with an extended arm with the box still on it. My advice would also be to go ahead and get the no box mod done or go with a extended 600 swingarm.  8)

Yah makes sense looking at the pic since the angle is pointing down away from the pivot. I got it +6" now but haven't tried to lower it as yet.

Might have to get the 9" grinder out :D
