Strut
« on: January 06, 2006, 10:04:30 AM »
Some guys run struts on streched busa and have gotten great times on there bikes, anyone out there using the strut for drag racing, without wheelie bar that is. I'm just trying to understand if the bike doesn't squat, how can it hook up without siniing or jumping striaght up in the air. 1/4 mile not 8th.

Some guys have gone 7s on Busas too... doesnt mean everyone can.

Only advantage I can see is that a strut is lighter than a shock.
No way a street tire will hook up with a strut though.

So the only thing you can run is a slick or a M/T on the bike. A shinko just will not work huh?

With a strut (no suspension)... the tire is going to take all the force.
It may hook with enough weight over the tire.
YOu may end up spinning the tire on the rim if you leave hard enough.... which will then require a bead lock (more wheel weight) and you'd be back at square 1.

Im pretty sure a stock shock revalve/spring is $300 tops.

I don't think the strut is a good idea without bars/slick.
