Why the big round holes in the fairings?
« on: January 12, 2006, 03:41:45 PM »
I have both the stock bodywork and Air-Tech bodywork for my 'busa. Both are designed with the big round hole in the left side. What for? It seems that putting holes in the fairings would cause more drag and other problems. The alternator cover that you can see through the hole does not even stick out of it, so it seems so unneeded. Is there any practical reason for this? I am thinking about filling it in for a better look and better aerodynamics.

I WOULD THINK IT IS TO HELP GET A LITTLE MORE AIR ON THE ENGINE FOR COOLING PURPOSES.
