cant find power comander 2

My home computer crashed bought a new one with usb ports and no serial, but commander is serial ports. Bought an adaptor for usb to serial. Now new computer cant find power commander.   help, what would you do

Its a port communication error....shut the Power commander off, exit the program. Start the program, wait a few seconds then power up the Power commander. It should auto recognize the USB port has an active item. Also make sure the adapter has the drivers loaded in windows. some adapters are NOT plug and play

Not all USB to serial adapters are equal. You may have to try another brand. Sometimes they work, sometimes they dont.

and try opening a map in the power commander software first
