hurricane katrina victim/super street rebuild
« on: January 26, 2006, 09:28:45 PM »
This is a bike that was sitting 2 feet under water on it's side, in a friend of  mine shop in New Orleans.  I went to pick the bike up last November. These photos really don't do Justice to the amount of damage the bike and motor actually sustained. Thanks to all the help on this site,  I will  have manage to revamp the whole bike and she should be up and running around mid FEB. Bike after tummy tuck, now for the cosmetic side..

Actually thoses were just filler panel, the bike is going to be Silver, black and Red, but I am not happy with the paint job now. The guy was not as good of a painter as he claimed nor did he paint the bike exactly as I wanted... My greatest fear of a customized paint job. the only saving grace is I didn't pay him much for the botch up job!

I feel for you man, I live in New Orleans...and I was putting the finishing touches on my old zx12 before the storm hit.  My bike made it through, and I rode it about 2 times before an uninsured girl, who was talking on her cell phone with her dog jumpping on her lap hit me at a red light!!!  Anyway she had a $10000 FEMA check, go figure all that money and no insurance, she paid me cash on the spot.  I bought a busa, which I'm prostreeting, when I figure out how to put up pics I'll show you, maybe we can hook up and ride.

I guess FEMA was good for something after all!!

You think your friend could hook me up with a solid black paint job, I need a spare set of body work while I'm waiting for the final touches to be done on my orange fairings...if you are still around I'd love to get to see your bike and talk with you about the turbo set up.  Call me some time 504-250-1719.  Here is an update on my bike, its been stuck on pause for months now cuz I got super busy at work...sucks big time, I'm dyin to ride it, and I hate the process of customizing a bike...if your not a multi-gagillionare it takes so dam long.  By the time my bike is done the new busa will be out and I'll be forced to run a turbo or some poweradder to hang with the new bikes...lol!!!
