Who's coming to Texas? Let's make the difinitive list.
« on: February 01, 2006, 11:22:22 PM »
I'm in.  Bringing two buddies.  One with a sprayed big bore busa.  The other with a turbo busa.
Yeah, it made 500 hp at 32 psi.

AusTex and myself. If my bike is not done then I'll be throwing
a leg over my Bros. 1397 with a touch of nos for a ride or two.
I'll spend the rest of the time shooting some pictures and refilling
bottles for my bro.
If it is done I'll have a 1375 ZX-12 with a small touch of nos and a
little "Cheese Magic". Still waiting on back ordered parts and misc.
other things. Just got the new cylinders and JE pistons in, trans is
off getting some OD 5th and 6th gears over at Robinson. I hear he
has been a little sick and also had a back attack, so he is running
a touch behind. Should have the crank in a couple weeks, then
we can mock it up and see how much of the starter needs to get
shaved. The head is the one thing that might keep me from making
it on my bike, as that shucked valve did a little number on it. Hope
to see you all on sat. or sun.

I plan on going to watch. With my little stocker there's no need for me to get it on the track.

Why not?  It's as much about having fun and winding it out as anything else.  some of these big boys are going to wax my ass this time, but I'm gonna get out there and pin it anyway.  You should too.

...or are you joking?  Have you got a big gun ready to go?

I will be back again with my stock Busa and my daughter will be riding also. Her Busa is in transport from Hawaii back to Texas and needs a little work to get it running. We may wind up just sharing my Busa for this Texas Mile. Our goal is to try and crack 190 with no power adders and stock displacement. A turbo is in the planning stages for next fall. We have busy schedule leading up to the mile. The daughter is going to run in two bike shootouts in San Antonio in February and then run the Texas Shootout in Houston the week before the Texas Mile. Looking forward to having a lot of fun.

Hell, I need a sponsor too.  I'm lightweight and I have the balls to pin it.  Like the guy says on TV "How do I do it?  I'm in debt up to my eyeballs.".   I wouldn mind sporting a few stickers and towing the company line.

Hey RaceTrack, I'll be out at the ShootOut before the
Mile also. I wanted to run in the Heavy Hitters class, but
I do not think the bike will be done in time. I be hanging
out with a bunch of older folk there riding 12s (Karl, Ralf,
and Buddy) and maybe one or two Busas (George). I do
not think Bossman will make it out to ride. I'll also try to
Get JC out of the house to play. Hope to see ya there.

Looks like we will have several Texas Milers heading to Houston for the Shootout before the mile. I have Racetrack14 and Ninesecondjen on the hauler so we will be easy to spot. My daughter had a good run in the San Antonio Shootout Firday night. We finished second in the Street ET class and won the 600/750 class. She broke out on her last run with a 9.46 and her dial in was a 9.48. She had like 10 runs in the 9.5's before the final. Not to bad for the first time at that track and on my Hayabusa. I hope they have the 9.5 index at the Shootout in Houston.

Better you than me.  I've got 6 weeks to just tune mine and I'm sweating bullets.  No dynos in a small village like Austin.

Geez, and GBusa isn't talking, only saying " 8) 8)".  That's one secretive drag racer.  Actually, I talked to Johnny last weekend and he was getting ready to talk to the guy in Manor.  Maybe he will work it out.  I KNOW people will drive out there without a second thought to see the man.  Everything that can be crossed is crossed.

I'm not sure I'll be ready to run.  I've wasted so much time dicking around with the FMU that now I don't know if I can tune it safely before the meet.  The fp looks pretty stable now (thanks to the shim you sent me Tom.   :thumb:), but we've got rain predicted for the next 10 days and who knows after that.  I got a short log in this weekend when it was 35 degrees in between the rain.  I studied it, made some changes, and now I've got my map closer, but the big throttle openings and high revs still need to be dialed, and those are the most important.  Right now, the fp guage pegs and the bike pisses raw fuel out the side as soon as I get under boost.  A/F in the low 10's , even hit 9.xx once or twice.  I've taken some fuel out but I'll need dry streets to test it.  If this shit continues, I'll not have time to get it dialed.  To bad all the dynos left town when things started getting serious.  Likewise, my buddy Steve has been waiting for some prick in Dallas to finish his head for a couple of months now.  He may not be ready either.  It's not like I can afford this kind of thing, but if I'm going to hang my financial ass out, you'd think I could get a break.  I got all fired up about this thing and now it's fighting me every step of the way.  Frickin' day job.  And to think I was going to try and turn up the boost.  I can't even get it the way it was before, much less turn it up enough to improve my speed.  AAAAAAAAAGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!  I've turned into a hater!   I need to go cuss for a while.   :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:
I don't have the patience for this.  It's all I think about.

Words of inspiration my man.  I feel better now that I've spewed hatred for a little while.     I'll get er done and I'll meet you there bud.  I'll run it if it sputters, log it, and test it again on the next run if I have to.  Right there at the track.  I'm running it and that's it.

P.S.  the post office didn't leave my upper on the porch.  I have to go get it tomorrow.  Irritating, but what's new?

Dang, I am right there with you guys. I am waiting on parts, and the freaking people at Orient Express will not even give me a possible
completion date after the third call. If they can not give me a ball park
date I'll tell them to send my part back as is. My crank is also out and delivery has been post poned another two - three weeks. We still have
to mock it up once the crank is back and see how much the starter gear needs to get clearanced. My head is still out also. Realisticly I will not make
the March deadline, but I'll still show up to help support and might even through a leg over my brother's Busa. Hope to see you all running fast.
