My Fellow Busa Bro's Let Us Not Forget The ZX-14 Bore is 1352cc. Iwas always uder the impression that in order to be called a 1400 it would have to be Bore close to 1398cc. So the ZX 14 is actually a ZX 1350 . And Also as we all know Kawasaki is VERY!! BAD!! when it comes to First Generation Bikes as far as them NOT BREAKING DOWN !!!! And Not Putting out Recalls. ALSO FACT the ZX14 has a Compression of 13:1 that is Borderline for Pump Gas you CANNOT MODIFIY that Motor You WILL NOT! be able to run on pump Gas FACT!! Only Modification Allowed are Pipe PC lll and Map THATS IT!!

What are you talking about not running on pump gas?  Dude my 1270 12R is 13:5:1 and it runs great on pump gas every single day of the week.    Your wrong on the compression ratio.  Last time I looked on the Kawasaki site it was 12:1:1 not anywhere close to 13:1.    There will be plenty of mods made available for the machine.   And what does it fucking matter if Kaw wants to call it a 1400 and its only 1352.  You guys would really be bitching if they call it a 1300 and it was 1352.  Oh thats not fair its a 1400 not a 1300 it has more than 1300cc displacement.  I could hear it now.

ZXLNT - wanna bet the 14R has more aggressive cams than a stock Busa?  Or even that they are more aggressive than Yosh Stage 1's for a Busa?

Wanna bet $1???

Facts are that with average riders the 14R couldn't get out of it's own way at the press release.  And it still hasn't gotten any better looking...

So what if it does?     And several of those riders, were non riding mothers, that couldn't make anything go fast.   And if you dont like its looks, dont freaking buy one.  No one is forcing you to purchase one ya know...

My buse pipe with aPC3r make 171 on one dyno and 174 on another the same day. I run 9.3 at 149 consistent with no spray. Just all I say is the race will be good but that bike won't dominate cause in a kawasaki and we all know about the problems they bring with them. I will race one in a heartbeat some people don't have brand loyalty but I do so it is alot cheaper to add hp than buy a new bike.
have to bring a A$$ to whip a A$$!!!!

Hold you horse's Dude i see you know NOTHING about performance !!!!! And NOTHING about Kawasaki i have been riding probably longer than you have been riding twice in your life time and im only 39 i have brought NUMEROUS ! Kawasakis BRAND NEW OFF the floor and NUMEROUS other brands as well and KAWASAKI has the WORSE record for building BIG motor BIKES the ZX 11 PROBLEMS Oil 3 rod journal spins . If you check Consumer complaints WORSE RECORD!!! FACT! ZX12 Clutch BAskets Exploding FACT!! Let alone the look with those BIG as MIRRORS!! and FACT KAWASAKI First year production on ALL their Big Motor bikes have been a FLOP so buy it and watch them make a 1398cc next year especially since a NEW BUSA is on the way!!!! And if you Check and know motorcycles Kawasaki never leaves MORE ROOM for extra Horse power Mods than Zuk because they MAX out the bikes from the production.. You must be a Kaw fan i used to be Until everyone of those ZX11's 7 motors i went through and my ZX12, i went through 3 so far and a fact also is when you have 1352cc's its a 1350 not a 1400 so do you really know motorcycle motors or what.. I have friends in alot of states i will gladly send a busa to whip your ZX14 and guess what me and Kaws fastest racers are good friends i just cant speak their names due to the have jobs with them...

Hey guys I'm new to this forum but not others.I think kawi was brave to step out with the new 14/13.5 to start up the same hype that the 12r did.But this time I think they have excelled the busa after 7 years, but I'm kinda disappointed with the little power addition.I am not bias for either bike but by comparison the 14 should have the advantage with the extra cc's,compression,7 years.I have seen kawi web site awhile back list 12:7 to ,then now change to 12:0 possibly due to the overheating issues from what 14 owners have said, and almost a point in compression will surely kill some horsepower.I know a busa is just 11:0 and can run 87 pump gas,and I have been told can gain 10+ horsepower from just switching the intake cam to the exhaust. So just by doing those two things then they are back even i would think. My buddy owns a bike shop and has told me about the 12r is a timebomb when equipped with a turbo and that is why you don't see alot of turbo 12rs riding.Hopefully they fix that problem with the 14.I would never buy a first year production bike of any company until proved.I just feel bad for the owners of the 14s with the overheating problems, running back and forth to the dealer for recalls because that is what you can expect from a first year production anything basically.I like all bikes yamaha, suzuki, kawasaki, and honda, and would ride either one just as long as I could ride, but I like to sit and watch battles like suzuki vs kawi.It makes it fun for one another.

ZX14 Just wait till the owners of the 14 find out that the casing and the cylinders are all one piece so were as you would have to find someone who has a TOTALLY revise shop to do ANY type of modifications beside Kawasaki who if you send it to them you will probably pay what you brought the bike for to get a Bore Job !!!!!

the one piece top crankcase/cylinder thing is nothing new and nothing that can stop someone
the gsxr 1000's have been that way and you can bore them 3mm over easily and 5mm with some tricks from KWS
MILLENIUM bores the one piece case/cylinders all the time
yes it costs about $100-150 more than a seperate cylinder and requires a complete engine teardown, but it is easily done otherwise

the better question is.....how much cylinder wall is there in the zx14 to go overbore?
i would guess at least 2 or 3mm, remember thats only .040" or .060" off the wall respectively

i would like to know what size wrist pins they are using, tappet diameter to know how big of a cam will work safely before running off the bucket, etc

I find it sad that we're already talking about cams, bore jobs and head work with a bike that is brand new! Who was talking about any performance mods when the Hayabusa FIRST hit the streets? Everyone was still in awe due to its total dominance over the CB1100XX Blackbird. There was no comparison betwen the old king and the new ruler. The ZX-14 is only a marginal step forward.

In 1999 nothing was close to the performance of the Hayabusa. That Summer saw no competitor for the big Suzuki. That's how it should be for a bike that's introduced as the king. The first year should go uncontested...nothing close!! Here we are in '06 and Kawasaki introduces their new king, the ZX-14. While it's quicker and faster than the Busa, it's only marginally so. The dominance of the ZX-14 over the aged Hayabusa (if you can call it dominance) is not the same type of dominance the Hayabusa had over the Blackbird. That should be a real source of shame and embarrassment for Kawasaki when you consider they are shooting at a seven year old target.

If you have a ZX-14 and you like it, you need to pipe it, map it and strap it as quickly as possible. Then the bike will perform the way it should have straight from Kawasaki.

Fast
Holy Crap, I have to sell this ZX-12R!!

How about track times?

Does it go around a corner without a guy line?

The Green folks have always prided themselves on having the biggest everything, and making the highest top end speed by 1 mph (or so).

Suzuki has a ton of hard lessons learned under their belts in the V&H GS1150 drag era, which I am pretty sure is how our bikes got such a good clutch (weak on damn near any big bike).

The ZX14,000 might be a little bit faster in some tests, but I think when the dust settles it will have a hell of a time satisfying as many folks as the Busa has and does.
