Is the 600 swing arm shorter than a busa, nice if it is, great for wheelies.

yes

How much shorter? Is this the reason others fit it? Would love to make my Busa behave like a gixer 1000.

approx 1''

raise your rear 1'' higher than stock with raising links and get your front forks done.

but if you're really an all out carver get a 750/1k and be happier,  you won't have to worry about dragging hard parts like you do with the busa.

Most if not everyone who puts a 600 arm on wants it extended and lower. :D

Can I ask why, is it just because of the weight? I dont understand why you would put a shorter swingarm on then extend it. Also can the standard arm take the power of the busa, does it twist under power, I have read through the tech side but still a little lost.

Just got a GSXR 600 k1 swingarm with links on ebay nice and cheap so any advice would be greatfull.

when guys talk about running 600 arms, they are talking about them being extended....the no top brace, lets you get lower...they are a great way to extend and lower a busa...

Busa & GSXR 600 k1 swing arm

I have read various post's using the seach function but in need of a few answer's, sure a few on hear will know. I would gess these questions would help others to.

I have got coming to me a GSXR 600 k1 swing arm with mount/knuckle. My aim is to bolt this on retaining the standard hight as I am short, but using this will shorten the wheel base.

My busa is mainly for Sunny days round the twisties and on the back wheel after every bend, just a toy for fun.

Will this handle the power with no mods?

If it's bolted on will it still have standard hight?

I'm gessing I need the swingarm with mount/knuckle then busa shock & sping & conecting arms (think there called dog bones) ?

Im sure I have standard sprokets, should I go with a slightly larger rear to compensate for the chain lenth & how much top end will I lose doing this? What size do I go for? What is the standard busa geared to? (197 / 202mph)

Thanks all....

you're gonna need adjustable links as the 600 arm setup lowers the bike.

Hear is the one I bought, realy do want to keep the busa as it is but with a shorter arm, but if it is lowered slightly what do I do for the front, can I lower that to keep the handleing the same etc.

Cost me including delivery £24.50

you can get to stock height by getting the links that raise a stock busa 1" or if you have a drill press get just get a piece of 2024 or 7075 aluminum and drill it. I see them made out of 6061 but prefer something harder. use the knuckle that came with that arm and it will work fine.
one thing you may want to try b4 going to all the work switching over is to just raise the back 1" and see what you think

then installing a 600 arm (stock length) would seem to me to be a waist of time. being lower you give up handling. I think I would just take a link out move tire all the way forward and raise it 1"

Well what I am trying to do is shortern the wheelbase as this is the main difference between a busa and most sport's bike's. I am short myself but the busa hight is just about ok for me, aswell as fitting the arm I do intend to use a 43/43 rear sprocket, I dont want to raise the hight over stock as it would be to tall for me.

I am gessing it's the 600 nuckle/pivot that make's the busa lower when the 600 arm is fitted, so how much lower does it make the busa? And can I just make or space dogbones another inch?

Thanks

well it is not the main difference,  it is ALOT heavier and wider.
