WTK Oil filter removal

Help! I am trying to change my oil for the first time. I havd crushed my filter with a strap type remover. Is there any way to get this thing off other that a factory tool?

they make a 3 jaw type remover,you could find one pretty much any auto store or harbor freight.when you install the new one don't tighten it up that tight

I use a large pair of channel locks to loosen the oil filter.

use the fiber strap type oil filter wrench
gets tighter as it ravles up

Then when you replace it with your K&N oil filter, just use a 17 mm wrench on the handy hex that is on the end.

The only thing is if u have a sidewinder u cant use the K&N.

I dont get it, I take off most oil filters with my hand. I can get about 90% of them lose without a tool, for the hard ones the strap tool works well. 

I even bet my dad lunch one day I could pull the filter off the company trackhoe and it had not been changed in a year.

His new dodge is one I could not get, no way to grab it, you have to use a end tool on it cause there is just no room.

Just reach in there grab it and twist, they come right off :)

strap tool I what I always used...Haven't changed on yet on the Busa.
